25.01.2022 A few not so good images from the weekend. Lighting is difficult in dimly lit venues. Artists named in comments

25.01.2022 Last night the moon did have a red tinge, lots of bushfires around is my guess.

25.01.2022 Have arrived in Thredbo. Expect some Blues artist portraits this weekend.

25.01.2022 Day 12 .Forget Day 11. Some days are just too hard. Some days I just want to sail away.

25.01.2022 Loved the similar but different houses, houseboats and street scenes in Amsterdam

24.01.2022 Day 5. Yes I am late. Did some macro in the backyard with the 7D and 100m Macro lens. Quite like the colour and clarity of this specimen.

23.01.2022 Just getting started, many photographs to be added soon.

23.01.2022 . It is He who made the stars, so that they can guide you when land and sea are dark.

23.01.2022 Pines in the moonlight

22.01.2022 A few landscapes

22.01.2022 Landscape photography is as much about capturing small, intimate scenes, as it is about grand landscapes and dramatic light. The connection that we feel, the places where we find joy, beauty, meaning ~ these to me, are the places and moments and dialogues with the land, from which meaningful and moving landscape photography comes. It is a joy to be home after 8 weeks exploring the world.

21.01.2022 Spring is such a beautiful time in the garden, particularly after rain.

20.01.2022 Missed the moon last night and only had time to grab the point and shoot tonight. My take on the blood moon. Could put a filter on to make it look red but I wont.

20.01.2022 Found these in the garden today

20.01.2022 My other great love is Blues music and whilst we experience great gigs along Highway 61 and in New Orleans I was blown away by the great acts we saw at Wangaratta Jazz and Blues last weekend. I have been playing around this morning with a couple of images I really liked.

19.01.2022 Out of devastation comes some beauty, glorious sunset tonight, shame I only caught the finish of it.

18.01.2022 Humpback whales are a huge whale that only show off their tails when they are going to dive. Each whale has particular markings on their tail which are used to identify them. When a whale dives it can stay under water for up to 30 minutes. We followed this whale for nearly half an hour waiting for it to resurface.

17.01.2022 Another food one that I have been playing with, healthy but too dark perhaps.

15.01.2022 We stopped at Ggeehi on our way home today. I sat on rocks in the creek to take most of these. Enjoy the effort.

15.01.2022 Have been playing around with food, must be hungry!

15.01.2022 Trying something different.

15.01.2022 Day 8. A bit of a thunderstorm (in a teacup) this afternoon. More dust than rain but hopefully will water the veggies.

15.01.2022 I dont do much sport photography, apart from yachts. I took the opportunity to give it a go on the weekend. Kite boarders enjoying Brighton beach.

13.01.2022 Day 2: Another from Alaska that I enhanced today. It is hot and I wanted to feel cool

13.01.2022 Day 8. Busy painting. T. says there are 8 black cockatoos with yellow markings on their face in the dead tree I photographed in the storm. Said I was almost finished the painting and would capture after finishing. Huge fail.Of course they were gone. No image today!

12.01.2022 Day 6. No I didnt forget! Have been painting and cleaning walls ready for paint. Very tired last night but here is another macro from the garden

12.01.2022 Wentworth. The junction of the Murray and Darling Rivers.

08.01.2022 The start of a new European adventure. Staying on a houseboat with friends in Amsterdam. The activity on the water has been very interesting and varied. Everything from traditional barges to party boats yesterday a party boat with a dancing woman wearing only a g string, cruised by our window.

05.01.2022 Castles, monastries and villages along the Danube River, particularly the Wachau Valley in Austria.

05.01.2022 OK It has been hot, guess the same anywhere in Aus at the moment but when its over 40 I dont want to be outside. Late this afternoon we had a visit from some regulars who enjoyed a cooling drink and a shower under the sprinkler. Cant say I blame them

05.01.2022 Not impressed with the cloud cover for "supermoon".

05.01.2022 Whilst on holidays in the US I was able to visit a photographic exhibition in Chicago about mans interaction with the environment. I was pleased to find some of Ansel Adams work included as I have been a follower of his style for some time. We also visited Yosemite National Park where he has his own gallery.. H e is famous for the black/ white images he has taken in this area. The Zonal system that he used allows photographers to translate the brightness of nature into the s...hades of grey that will represent them in the final black-and-white image. The saying among zone system users is "expose for the shadows and develop for the highlights". I attempted t do this with some of the photographs I took whilst awy and, whilst I do not expound to be an Ansel Adams I have been pleased with some of the images I have manipulated. I hope you enjoy them See more

04.01.2022 Holes in the wall, Debrovnik, Croatia.
