21.01.2022 Remember this ol thang? We reinvigorated it today! . We pulled out all the old soil and created these genius planters to put into the cages. They have a layer of perlite at the base with higher drain holes so it creates a small water reservoir at the base. The geotextile fabric stops the soil from clogging the holes. 19.01.2022 We harvested a squash! This variety is called juane et verte, which means yellow and green. Havent figured out whether that means a mix of both colour on one fruit or a mix of both on the plant. We also named our planters so we can easily write notes about their performance to each other. 11.01.2022 Im telling you! Wicking beds are % the way to go for summer. All we do is ensure the beds are full of water and then nature does the rest! Now that were getting into some hotter weather, we will need to mulch soon. 06.01.2022 We spent the morning in the rain doing some serious replanting and composting. We now have dedicated herb planter boxes with basil, some boxes for tomatoes and eggplant and one box with zucchini and cucumber. We also snuck in one wildflower patch for insects. Please keep an eye on our babies and try not to pull out our new seedlings!
