20.01.2022 Sharing a memory from 2013 Nothing much has changed Perhaps more intense More to care for ... hells bells don't know where to start , karulundi wants in brahminy wants in bindy wants a walk, have to get genna to a vet, jacks dug a hole to china, old dingo went for a walk last night funny thing is old dingo , doesn't want to like me , Im a bit like nanny mc phee , there when needed but not when wanted , old dingo needs me , head down, I doesn't want to like you, as she sidles up , I don't look , and another step is taken , I have the lead , if I look at her she ducks away , a little close and then she licks my hand ,still wont look at me , almost like she has to prove she doesn't need me ,pride is of the essence , then I slowly put her lead on and we the can walk she keeps watching , and I keep talking , she relaxes after awhile, actually see the stress drain from her ,she knows where home is . the feral is getting fat , nooo .in such a dither and bonnie got fed twice last night and she is way too fat , how did I do that ,not like she will say , I has already hads myss dinner . the house is a shambles , ironing, washing, rooms need cleaning, have to try and plaster laundry then paint , dragged a whole lot of furniture in to the formal lounge , intent on selling, its still there now will have to find another place to store it all for, shit sake , my tread mill blew up with me on it and now it gets pushed and shoved, so at least its exercise moving the monstrosity around the room, damn how the hell will it ever be sorted .ok that's my bitch for the day . back to the dingo shuffle . which shuda been done while sitting here bitching about what need doing and that aint the half of it
20.01.2022 Django . When he first arrived and today .he is happy and healthy has a degree of attitude and dislikes the pups with a passion . Actually he doesn't really like many people and dislikes dingoes more .

19.01.2022 Up date on Bonnie . Dan ( vet ) called in yesterday . Amazing man , upon assessment he noted she was holding her head down reluctant to lift her head as though with great difficulty . After full examination it was determined her neck is causing her all the discomfort ... He checked her reflexes including her back leg reflex All appeared good The concern was her neck , I didnt even consider she could have a neck problem . Her meds have been changed to predx and tramadol. Last night she had her most peaceful sleep in quite a few days She is up and walking around I'm keeping a close eye on her . Have her food bowl at a height she does not have to drop her head or reach . She no longer has erratic breathing . She has lost the drawn tightness on her face So much more relaxed . Obviously we still require a cart for her , to alleviate the stress on her one back leg . I notice she uses her neck and head in an attempt to keep her balanced when walking It may be she has over extended her neck or perhaps fell at some point It is an amazing relief to no longer see her in so much pain, fearing the worst out come. I still lift her when she has difficulty ,but over all she is so much better Bonnie says thank you to all who wished her well . Not out of the woods but way better .

16.01.2022 Published by Bernice Walters Written by Cecil Fisher 1991 Posted 2012 . dingo..Working in the channel country in the out back ,riding along a well used track ,when in the corner of my eye ,I did see a dingo bitch lying under a gum tree... She looked so worn and ragged and beat ,I left her a big peice of meat ,On the rise,as I rode my chestnut horse up ,I saw the sign left behind of a dingo pup. I fed this bitch and pups for a couple of weeks ,alongside the banks of the Channel creeks,The bitch now with the puppies play around, left their tracks all over the black soil ground. One day a dogger to the station, doing his rounds said,"For dingoes I get paid a couple of pounds,Wont take me long to find the mother pups and dingo,When my job is finished from my station I`ll go'. Next day ,from mustering I rode on back,To the station on this well used cattle track,There, lay the ded dingo bitch on the ground, with dead pups all scattered around. I heard a whimper that made me look up ,There on the bank stood a little dingo pup,I reared this pup on milk and tucker of sort,he looked a champion,I called him ding,'dingo' for short. Ding was aabout 8 months old, when I went into town, I headed to town to let myself down. After the holidays another job I had to seek ,this time the job was mustering sheep. Ding didn`t take long to understand how to work sheep ,He was now a working dog earning his keep.Tirelessly we`d work the sheep all day .Ding and I never had much time to play. The boss of the station said " he looks like a dingo to me "I said " no boss, just a mongrel crossed with a kelpie" We worked on this station untill it could be seen ,Ding working sheep had turned into a champion. We would muster the sheep from the paddock all day ,At night while the sheep in the yards would stay ,After a feed I would put Ding on the chain,Seemed to be looking for something he couldn`t explain. On the chain I`d watch him as around he`d prowl,Then one night we heard a strange dingo howl, Ding got excited ,his body a quiver, just watching him, made me give a little shiver. I walked up to Ding and took off the chain ,I knew that he wanted to join his pack again, Ding`s going took a part of me ,out in the great Channel country. written by N A Cecil Fisher, published by Merrigal 1991. and when I watch my girls and my memory goes back to the countless others who came into my care ,its a well known fact, freedom is the dream of the dingo.. 13.01.2022 Sat with mering and maliki through to the early morning hours They had their dinner. Brown rice lots of veggies ,raw roo, chicken . egg each and a hand full of good puppy pellets . We then went to exercise yard where they played and chased each other ... Some time later both became nostalgic, big change in their over all behaviour . Both started vomiting. ( they are up to date on all vaccinations) This vomiting continued into the early hours of the morning . I continued to make sure both remained hydrated Today both are a bit brighter and taking soft food We fear due to ongoing toxicity some one has thrown an unknown substance onto our property We are more diligent than ever to protect those in our care . Unfortunately we have to check all areas before we can exercise. See more

12.01.2022 For those having followed Bonnie , her life in the midst of dingoes Her incredible understanding of those dingoes, her love and compassion, her vibrant personality, loving life, caring for all things great and small Down to protecting a mouse . The cat had caught a mouse , played with it until she became bored , bonnie laid and watched this play out . The cat walked off and bonnie crawled over to this now dazed and injured mouse, put her paws around it and pulled it to he...Continue reading

06.01.2022 Mering and maliki . So very different, considering they are siblings Mering having his dingo appearance . Very agile, flexible, he is taller, longer, lean, he has the gait of our dingo, he is receptive and surprisingly, will come when called Very much mums boy , yet very aloof with strangers permitting only myself to handle .... Neither bark, both howl . Maliki is very vocal if she feels threatened. Very timid aloof wary But her appearance is dog like ,shorter in body, more compact . Not as agile or flexible She is not as loose limbed as mering not as agile, her gait is very tight as in dog ( not loose muscled) her tail is a tight curl . Mering's tail hangs loose .( although he curls it ) Depending on what message he is sending . Maliki can not out run the long legged leaness of mering . She will not acknowledge when called , and does her best to distract and coerce Mering into mischief She will investigate anything she is unsure of Mering prefers to be cautious Neither bark . Confusing to see the dog in the dingo and the changes it brings. Confusing for them as well .
