25.01.2022 Sad story so far, hopefully there is a good outcome.

24.01.2022 Crowd Carnivore co-founder, Zachary Sequoia, helping to focus Federal funding on more regional innovation and agtech.

24.01.2022 Integrity in the food supply is demanded by consumers more and more. A 5 minute read below on what it doesn't look like. Knowing your farmer is the only way forward. "He will return home having saved nothing after expenses and having spent 258 days in prison. At the airport, he buys two soft koala teddy bears for his daughters, including the baby girl he has never met."... http://www.smh.com.au/intera//fruit-picking-investigation/

22.01.2022 After a great couple of years, Crowd Carnivore unfortunately shut our doors this week. It's been amazing getting to work with some of Australia's best grass-fed farmers and passionate ethical meat lovers. We'll miss you!

22.01.2022 Chickens love grass! And check out the smiles on the farmers faces. Landline has been sharing some great farming stories of late. The only argument of the 10000 chicken per hectare of dirt farmer is "our product is cheaper". Meh.... http://www.abc.net.au/landline/content/2016/s4536497.htm

22.01.2022 Politically I am a Libertarian (in the classical liberal sense), Zak is a lefty but I am working on him :). This pretty much sums up why. Farmers suffer from all kinds of government "help". From regulation designed to support the Big Ag end of town and squashes the little guy, to things like this, levies. Levies are taxation, and taxation without representation has long been fought against, core to the enlightenment of western civilisations.... Every cow a farmer sells has a levy fee built in. This goes to things like R and D, Marketing and of course "administration". Farmers get no say in how this money is spent and no way to opt out. Here is a scenario. All farmers on our platform have some direct marketing experience with their businesses (even if only selling to families, friends, locally etc) and all of them are ethically raised, grass fed and grass finished. Their levies are being spent on markets they philosophically may not agree with (say international markets they ethically oppose due to food miles or animal welfare issues) or worse, on R and D programs such as Breed development that "performs" better in feedlots on Pesticide resistant GMO grain. Our farmers are forced to pay for things that will never benefit them, and things that they may vehemently oppose. We are able to opt out of certain things for religious purposes, this freedom should extend to farmers here. Farmers deal with fire, flood, droughts, markets, disease, banks trying to foreclose on them, and taxation for simply trying to bring you the best food possible. Support them as best you can. -Dan

21.01.2022 Old Mill Road Biofarm are the gold standard in terms of production and profitability of veges a few hrs south of Sydney and north of us .Constantly working and educating themselves, always looking to improve, happy to share their knowledge with others. Producing food is tough, not everything goes to plan. 3 months work on a new patch of dirt, and back to square one. Farming and Start-ups have a lot in common. Both are constantly breaking new ground and encounter similar impediments to progress.

18.01.2022 Helicopter crash and quadriplegic as a result? No problems. Adapt and overcome. NT live cattle trade producer turns innovative North Queensland Grass fed direct marketing beef enterprise. Inspiring farming family.... http://www.abc.net.au//rob-cook-continues-his-farm/7809066

17.01.2022 The best possible (ethical) meat experience we hope to be able to provide you one day, but can't. Fish can be caught and processed on the boat or back at shore, but regulators think meat with legs becomes a bio-hazard when you do the same. Hopefully in our lifetime this will change. Until then, enjoy our story of a farm kill experience with a family that knows where their food comes from.... https://crowdcarnivore.com.au/families-mince-together-stay/

11.01.2022 Mike Rowe nails it!

10.01.2022 Joel Salatin talks about multi use infrastructure as key to farming sustainability and profitability. If you have something big and expensive on your farm with only 1 use, its fragile. Here is a great story on farmers using their crop water allocation to grow Murray Cod. The result is 10 times more profitable and now 2 enterprises from the one farm.... This is the future. Check out the smiles on the farmers faces. http://www.abc.net.au/landline/content/2016/s4532192.htm

10.01.2022 Spring is in the air, it's lambing season and don't our customers know it! Another campaign closed and in a couple of weeks 12 happy customers will be tucking into a box of grass fed and grass finished lamb from Ambleside farm! https://crowdcarnivore.com.au/ambleside-farm/

10.01.2022 A great article about how digital technology is helping farmers all over Australia. Exciting times!

10.01.2022 "You'll never lamb alone". New campaign celebrating diversity over a meal of lamb by the MLA. Nothing brings diverse communities together like food. This video nails it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9Ka3a7cdYw

10.01.2022 Interesting times! #Repost @westonaprice with @repostapp This is how cows were meant to nourish themselves--on green pasture, not confined and fed corn and soy in CAFOs! Thanks to @nourishingourchildren for the and the !

09.01.2022 About 5 years ago now on our own private beach in the Philippines (rented for about 1/10th the price of a 1 bedroom apt in Sydney!) my partner Lyndal (she works behind the scenes but is really the main effort here) and I caught the below blog post, becoming instant Joel Salatin fans. We decided there we would be farmers and properly connect with our food. We were so remote it was a mission to get any mail (bribing the local post office with Rum worked) - all I wanted was his... books, and got one sent with a packet of macadamia nuts, the only thing I really missed at the time. Fast forward to now. We have a humble pastured egg business we are expanding and together with a serious creative talent, Zak, a startup that connects amazing farmers to just as amazing customers. This journey has allowed us to meet so many great people, including Joel in person at a workshop in Vic last year. Every dollar you spend outside the "food system" is so important. Its the only tool we really have. http://robbwolf.com//a-short-history-of-polyface-farms-an/

07.01.2022 Zak doing a "60 second pitch". Not a great pic due to the large crowd! Last night at CBR Innovation Network, a startup networking event - great ecosystem being fostered there.

06.01.2022 Some exciting news about our startup being selected to attend the Google Masterclass for regional innovators in December.

02.01.2022 A great initiative for young innovators with funding support from Meat & Livestock Australia. Applications close this Friday! If you are wanting to innovate in the Ag Tech space and we can help in any way, get in touch. There is a lot of support available.

02.01.2022 Zak at the Google Masterclass today.

02.01.2022 Grass fed AND grass finished. No compromises.
