25.01.2022 Check out farm girl Tess and her new set of wheels! Thank you to foster carers Marie and Tony in Coonabarabran for this awesome footage! - CRRA team

25.01.2022 Foster Dogs Update 12/10/2020: Timmy: Timmy is settled and thriving with his foster family. He loves his big walks and is meeting more dogs at the local park, therefore his doggie behaviour, which includes 'over excitement' is improving, along with his confidence. He has been lucky enough to meet 2 Collie friends, Laddie and Sherlock, when he has been out on his walks. His favourite thing in the world is to run, chase and play with his toys, coming a close second is chasing f...lies LOL. Oh yes, apparently he has taken ownership of the human bed. Tess: Tessie Bear is also thriving on the farm. Her weight loss program has been amazing and she certainly found her niche with the poddy lambs. On Saturday, Marie contacted me to say that Tess was now the farm heroine as she spotted a big Brown Snake, being the clever girl she is, she went on full alert, didn't engage with the snake but barked and barked until Tony came to see what was wrong. He is very proud of how well she alerted them to the snake without putting herself in danger and therefore saved the poddy lambs. Well done Tess, you truly are a farm dog now. Once the borders are open, we can't wait to meet Tess and Ricky. Grace: Her biopsies have come back and she has been diagnosed Alopecia X. Its purely cosmetic but it means that there is no known cause for her hair loss and an uncertainty of how much will grow back, although she has full fluffy legs and head now. She doesn't know she's a Nudie!! We are starting her on a supplement course for 12 weeks which may or may not help her coat to grow, only time will tell. Her sensitive skin issue is unrelated to the condition. Grace is happy and well, even though she does at times give Buddy and Dixie a headache with her constant sticky beaking at what they are doing. She follows them everywhere. Her favourite thing in the world is her meal times, such a little piggie, she will steal food off your plate if you're not watching! We are currently assessing when to place Grace up for adoption again. Arlo: Such a beautiful boy. He is a rehome, surrendered by a loving family. He had his full health check last Wednesday, which he came through with flying colours, the only issue was being underweight, he needs to gain approx 3kg to be ideal for his size. He is a 17 mth old Collie who loves to be kept busy playing, exercising and doing his training lessons, as he has lots of energy to burn (he loves the roast chicken rewards he gets when training). He is going to be a Collie who would be well suited to agility, dog sports etc. He is very loving and smoochy and gives you big Collie kisses.(photos below of Arlo and his ball!)

24.01.2022 Past Paws of CRRA! This weeks story is Gypsy's Gypsy joined the Wagstaff family in September 2019 just in time to be the BEST Father’s Day present EVER for Jim.... Jim & his wife Denise had owned Collie’s their whole marriage. Sadly, Denise passed away unexpectedly in December 2018. Having grown up children living across Victoria, Jim found himself quite lonely after losing his wife of 50+ years. Over the next few months after Denise’s passing, the family began reminiscing about days gone past which gave Jim’s son & daughter in law an idea Enter CRRA! From the 1st meeting, Jim & Gypsy had a connection. Both were reserved & gentle, but both had broken hearts & were needing a friend. 2 days later, Gypsy had moved to Echuca to go on trial with Jim! We all knew though CRRA were never getting her back! If you call the Wagstaff house, you will be greeted with Hello, Gypsy’s dad! Gypsy now spends her days eating eggs & toast for breakfast, lounging around her big house, laying on the heated floor, going for daily walks along the river (she’ll remind you if you forget to go!), catching up with the locals on her daily walks, watching out the window for the next door cat, being brushed by her human & snuggled up to Jim, wherever he goes! Gypsy has had the pleasure of attending a Wagstaff Christmas with 13 adults, 12 young grandchildren & her 2 doggie friends Monty & Pip where she was an absolute angel. Gypsy & Jim are inseparable. She’s first in the car to go to family dinner’s at Pip & Monty’s house! We only wish she was allowed to go to golf with Jim! (I’m positive she agrees!) We honestly cannot imagine how Jim would be coping in the current Covid situation without his best friend Gypsy! She is his companion, his support & his entertainment. The Wagstaff family cannot thank CRRA enough for allowing us to love Gypsy! We could not have found a better friend for Jim. She has brightened his difficult days & continues to make everyone smile every day.

20.01.2022 An update on our CRRA dogs! CRRA Foster Dogs update: 24/09/20 Tess: As you would all have seen by the great photos and video's Marie is posting, Miss Tessie Bear is thriving in her Foster Care home. She adores being a Mother to the new lambs and fusses over them, a natural Marie has said. She also loves to work the herd and even though she doesn't quite understand all the commands yet, she is very enthusiastic and runs around doing her best to help. Received a very excited c...Continue reading

17.01.2022 CRRA Foster Dogs update 26/11/2020. Grace: Little Gracie started her 12 week course of Melatonin 2 weeks ago. This is to try help stimulate some hair growth which is being hindered by Alopecia X. So far we are seeing definite tuffs of hair growing back in some of her bald patches, so we are very excited. How much or how thick it will grow we do not know, it may be a little or it may be a lot, but any regrowth is very exciting, fingers x'd it continues. She is continuing with... her bi-monthly Pentosan injections which help her immensely with her stiff joints. Grace is still in Foster Care with Deb, Phil, Buddy & Dixie. Stay tuned for an announcement in regards to moving forward with Graces ongoing care. Tess: Tessie Bear continues to amaze everyone with how well she has adapted to being a farm girl. She had her scheduled Vet check-up and is now at her goal weight of 21.4kg, (she is not a big girl), which is the most amazing effort on the part of Marie, Tony & Tess. The Vets were thrilled with her weight, health and fitness. She continues to be a den mother to all the little lambs and is living her best life with Ricky and the kelpies. Stay tuned for an exciting announcement regarding Tess. Timmy: Health wise Timmy is doing well apart from itchy allergy eyes, which is a seasonal problem and is treated with eye ointment. Also if he overdoes the running and playing (because he such a zoomie boy when he plays), he can pull up a little sore. His training with his behaviour issues is improving all the time, sometimes in baby steps, but he has come such a long way which is wonderful. With the guidance, patience and love of his Foster Carers, he will continue to improve. Stay tuned for exciting news in regards to Timmy. Arlo: What can we say. This beautiful boy has come such a long way with his training, he tries so hard and just wants to please. We can see big improvements, but there is still a long way to go and it will need to be an ongoing thing throughout his life to reinforce the progress he has made. Now he has gained some confidence, he has settled down a lot and he is the most adaptable, loving and smoochy boy - NOT TO MENTION HANDSOME! Health wise, all is well. He is currently up for adoption and we are working very hard to find him the exact home that is right for him.

07.01.2022 Past Paws of CRRA! This weeks story is Buddy's. Buddy (original name Bubba) was spotted on Gumtree in January 2018 aged 6 years old. This poor boy didn’t look to be in a good way. ... After collection by CRRA, his health and condition was far worse than we could have imagined. Emaciated, full of infection, decaying rotten teeth, embedded grass seeds and severe eye infection. Our Vet stated he probably wouldn’t have lived much more than another 6 weeks in his condition. He endured 2 major surgeries in the first 2 weeks and then many months of physical rehabilitation, some of which is still ongoing in regards to his eyes and diet. And yet through it all, he was the most gentle, loving and accepting Collie, coping with everything that was thrown at him. After being in our care for nearly 6 months and nursing him back to health, we had formed an amazing and loving bond with this beautiful boy, so we decided to adopt him into our Collie family. He loved both Dixie & Belle Belle and they became a bonded threesome. He is now 8 years old and is living the good life. He loves his toys, cuddles on the couch, sleeping on the bed (and squeezing you out LOL). Most of all he loves all the adventures he has with his Colliewobbles friends, he is a real social butterfly now and also enjoys spending time at Elaine’s house hanging out with his Harem of girls. This boy really is a true gentleman (and extremely handsome) and he holds a very special place in our hearts. See more

05.01.2022 Past Paws of CRRA! This weeks story is Dixie's. Born 12/09/12 into high volume kennel, Dixie found her freedom on the 8/12/2015 for $48.00 and a bag of food, after the RSPCA major investigation unit and local Pyrenees Council responded to reports of abuse and inhumane treatment at the kennels.... Dixie was suffering from mental trauma like we had never experienced before, it has taken five years of consistent routine and care to rebuild her trust and enjoy her new life. After 12 months, Dixie started to play with her new found friends Belle Belle, Abie, Rhaine, and her bestie of doggy friends Rebel. She loves her play dates at her second home with her Aunty Elaine and enjoys attending the smaller group walks. After 5 years Dixie will still regress if we change her routine or she is in unfamiliar surroundings. Dixie is now the hostess that will play with all the new foster dogs that come to stay . We call her little Dixie due to her size but we never underestimate how much joy and love this little girl has to give .

04.01.2022 Past Paws of CRRA! This weeks story is Ted's. Teddy was an assisted rehome via CRRA.... I saw his previous owners desperate post and thought we just might be a good option for him. A young high drive collie living in the inner burbs making a nuisance of himself, until death threats forced his owners hand. He went to the Cassaps for a week, then came to our little farm. Ted and I have a ball. We live a very busy life together, he is out in the paddocks twice a day when horses are fed, and we do something else every day. We walk, we ride, we play and we train. He comes everywhere with me and we have developed a really strong bond. He was never going to be suited to an inner city or sedentary life. He is very social and just loves to see his colliewobbles mates. Fingers crossed we can all catch up again soon.

03.01.2022 **Not available for Adoption** Meet Arlo! He was surrendered to CRRA this morning as an assisted rehome. ... CRRA now have 4 rescues in our foster care program. Further information will be provided shortly. - CRRA team
