25.01.2022 The Alpine Hotel and Fergusson Real Estate Red Devils take on the Gungahlin Eagles at Rotary Oval this afternoon. Coomas terrible year for injuries didnt let up last week with injuries to First XV captain Adam Schofield and hooker Dom Giagios. Adam broke his fibula which has been surgically repaired and Dom has a suspected spleen injury.

19.01.2022 Cooma Rugby Club Old Boys Day 2019 Will Turner won the Dobbie Award named for the late Graham Dobbie. Graham Dobbie was a member of the Clubs first premiership winning team in 1988 and he scored the winning try in the Grand Final.

18.01.2022 As you are no doubt aware, Scott Pauls, a Cooma Rugby Old Boy is in poor health and his mates held a fundraiser last Saturday night. Its with immense pride tha...t I can announce that more than $50,000 was raised to support Scotty and his family in this difficult time. Thanks to Sean Nielson, Marcus Caldwell, James Quodling and all the Cooma Old Boys for organising the event. Thanks to Michael and Kris Sharkey from the Alpine Hotel donating the room and the food for the evening. Shannon Fergusson once again was outstanding as our auctioneer. Thank you to all the businesses that supported the fundraiser and were so generous with their donated prizes. Media Release Cooma Rugby union Football Club After much deliberation and considerable discussion Cooma Rugby Union Football Club have made the difficult decision not to offer Community Rugby for the first time in 57 years. We feel, as a club, that we are unable to comply with all d...irectives of the Return to Play Framework for Community Rugby distributed by the ACT & SNSW Rugby Union (Brumbies) and therefore will not be entering any teams in the 2020 Rugby Season. This decision has been made in the best interests and safety of players, coaches, parents, volunteers and spectators. While many may question our decision, the club identified a number of reasons for this decision, with the primary reason being the safety of players, supporters and our community. The requirements of the framework to return to play also meant increased personal responsibility on volunteers and cost to both players and the club,. Considering the current economic and social environment we are living in it is unreasonable to ask more of people. The restrictions outlined in the framework also appear to decrease the enjoyment of rugby for all involved in this great game, including the spectators and volunteers. If there are significant changes to the framework and a workable competition structure identified the Club may reconsider their decision if it is in the best interest of players, volunteers, spectators and the local community. In the meantime Cooma Rugby Club will start working towards the 2021 season which we believe will still have some significant restrictions that we will need to meet.
