18.01.2022 Over the last two years, we have had the opportunity to work with over six schools in the western suburbs. On the back of its success, we are expanding the program under its new name 'The Playbook Program' The project is looking to increase flag participation within the western suburbs while providing young people with the opportunity to learn useful life skills in an engaging, fun & all-inclusive physical activity program. We hope to address the emerging challenge of navig...ating times of crisis and increasing participation in physical activity and mentorship. We believe The Playbook Program will be particularly important in the current Covid-19 pandemic & we hope to achieve building positive leaders within our community and equip those involved with the XO’s to life. #crunation #crusadersfootball #westisbest #weareone #ThePlaybookProject For more information, send us a message, Email us on [email protected] or visit the WCGC website. 18.01.2022 PLAYER PROFILE We caught up with Sabine in the lead up to the 2020 season and asked her a little about her Gridiron history. When was your first year playing American Football? I started playing back in 2010. What Position do you play?... Safety and Kicker What do you love most about that position? Safety: the challenge of reading and reacting to both the run and pass game of the other team. Kicker: Kicking What was your 2019 Season highlight? and Why? Starting the season with a rookie team and fighting our way all the way into the VicBowl! What are you looking forward to the most in the 2020 season? A successful season with a strong competition in the women’s league. What do you enjoy most about playing for the CRU? The teammates and coaches I’ve met through the club who have become close friends over the years. What’s an interesting fact about yourself that not many people would know? The only time I got seriously injured in football (dislocated elbow) was playing the non-contact version flag football. Join the Western Crusaders Football program. 13.01.2022 RIP Craig Francisco The most feared opponent, the most respected team mate and the most cherished friend. The shock of your passing today has rocked our Club as you were a true titan of a man and a generational talent that the game here will likely never see again. We all have such fond memories of you on and off the field and there are countless stories all reflective of your positive impact on our lives and to be fair, quite a few of your impact on our bodies. Our deepest condolences go out to Julie, Teagan, Ella and Madison at this time, our thoughts are with you. Rest in peace #66

At the WCGC we live and breathe the motto WE ARE ONE, especially during these hard times with lockdown. It is even more important to be checking in with friends & family You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just be a good friend and a great listener Use these four steps & have a conversation that could change a life; ...
