23.01.2022 The Blues kick off 2021 this weekend with a bang, as the Mens and Juniors clash with Port Adelaide tomorrow afternoon with high hopes of starting their year just like they ended 2020; with a #bluewash The 1st Grade side remains unchanged from last year, as they play off for the Phillips Freeman Trophy out at Port Reserve. This trophy has been played between the two clubs for 16 years, and is extra special this season with the tragic passing of Eric Freeman last month. Freem...an played 11 Tests for Australia, as well as playing SANFL for Port Adelaide. In the 2's, Josh Goodwin is the only inclusion to the star-studded lineup . The 3's and 4's will look to continue their unbeaten record this season. A special welcome to Lachlan Dumigan, who will be making his club debut in the 4th Grade tomorrow - go well mate! On Sunday, the Women's sides play Kensington, Glenelg and Payneham respectively. With the competition effectively 'restarting' for the 1st and 2nd Grade, both teams will be hoping to kick start the second half of their season with a win. The 3rd Grade currently sit only one game outside the Top 4, and will be determined to keep themselves right in finals contention. All Juniors teams sit in commanding positions on the ladder, with three of the four teams playing tomorrow against Port Adelaide. The Under 16 Whites will play an internal match at Bailey Reserve in the absence of Port Adelaide's equivalent team. The club will be providing lasagna for dinner tomorrow evening after the Mens and Juniors games (thank you Karen Els and co.!), so make sure to come back after another successful round of cricket! #bleedblue

22.01.2022 In what was a monumental weekend of cricket for the club, 10 out of 13 games were won; including nine of nine against East Torrens! The Mens Seniors had their third #bluewash for the season, with Brad Davis (144), Mitch Thiele (126*), Matt Hayden (107) and Corey Kelly (103) all tonning up with the bat. Austin Robertson (4/14) and Joc O'Connell (4/38) were the standouts with the ball, bowling very well in the heat on flat wickets. In the #juniorbluewash, there was a very even ...spread performance wise, as Joseph Rapahel and Harry Baker both raised the bat in the blistering sun. Meanwhile with the ball, it was wickets aplenty as Under 16 White's skipper Henry Pontifex (4/26) and 14 White's young gun Ed Elton (3/8) ran riot on East Torrens. Yesterday, the Womens 1st Grade played back-to-back T20's against a testing West Torrens and Northern Districts outfit. Australian superstar Megan Schutt batted well in both games, hitting 65* and 30 in quick succession. In the 2's, Ilona Melegh hit an awesome, fighting 54*, however West Torrens were too good in the end and won by 10 wickets. To round out the weekend, the Ray Sutton lads defeated East Torrens in the Grand Final, winning by four runs in what was a true epic! Thomas Schulze and Isaac Trewartha were the best with the bat, while Lachy Bird and Lachy Ranaldo took 2/12 and 2/17 respectively in an economical bowling display. Well done again boys on the club's first flag for the season!

20.01.2022 And just like that, the 2020/21 season is upon us! The Mens 1st Grade welcomes Keagan English (#549) back into the lineup for the first time since February 2009, whilst the Mens 2nd Grade hails the return of Peter Wilson (#550); who last played at the club in March 2012. Welcome back fellas, we've missed you! Joc O’Conn...ell and Austin Robertson also make their debuts for the club, both lining up in the Mens 2nd Grade. In the Womens 1st Grade, a very special mention and welcome to Matilda Maitland and Rosie Tennant on being selected to make their Sturt Womens 1st Grade debut this Sunday; congratulations girls! A big well done also to Amelia Rault on her appointment as 1st Grade skipper! Best of luck to all teams in our first hit out for points this season, go well

17.01.2022 What a decade of cricket it has been for Megan Schutt

17.01.2022 An amazing weekend of cricket from the senior teams across the club, with six of the seven sides winning in style! To highlight the men's #bluewash, the 1st Grade chased down an enormous 351; with match-winning knocks from Brad Davis, Corey Kelly, skipper Zyggy Kulesza and Max Parker. The 2nd Grade had a comfortable win also, led by young gun Reggie Els with the bat and debutant Joc O'Connell with the ball. The Mens 3rd Grade won in brutal fashion, as Alex Senior and Lachie ...Francis ran riot with the new ball to bowl West Torrens out for 58 and win by nine wickets. The 4's won by 10 wickets, courtesy of an awesome collective bowling performance and an unbeaten 101-run stand between Zac Goodwin and Matt Hayden. Earlier today, the Womens 1st Grade comprehensively beat Kensington in their T20 as young gun Beth Worthley and club life member Eliza Bartlett teamed up to score 82 runs between them. The bowling accolades were shared, as the 1's won by 27 runs. The 2nd Grade commendably defended their score of 77, as Aliyah Scamoni took three wickets in what was a fine day of bowling and fielding against Northern Districts. The 3rd's were unfortunately unable to defend their score of 8/65, as Payneham (1) went on to win by seven wickets. Captain Karen Smith was the pick of the bowlers, taking back to back wickets.

16.01.2022 It's Under 18 Shield Week! Congratulations to the 17-man squad on their selection in what appears to be a formidable lineup. The boys secured a win yesterday against Southern District, and will look to carry that form into home games at Price today and tomorrow, against Glenelg and Woodville, respectively. ... Get down and support them as they seek a berth in next week's finals! #bleedblue

Lachie Francis will also be making his season debut in the 2nd Grade, replacing Ed Verco next weekend as a slash player. The 1st Grade Womens will on Sunday be playing Glenelg bac...k on our home deck, as Nicole Hobbs makes her 1's debut - well done Nicole! 02.01.2022 Rolling into Round 2 on a high, the Mens senior sides this weekend line up against Prospect. Similarly, the Womens 1st and 2nd Grade Grade will look to keep the wins rolling with match ups against Southern Districts and Glenelg respectively. The Womens 3rd Grade, eager to get back to their winning ways, lock horns with Gepps Cross on Sunday morning. The Mens 1st Grade welcomes back Peter Wilson at the top of the order, in place of Brad Davis who is back on Redbacks duty. Dan...iel Clarke is their second in this weekend, replacing Harry Matthais. The 2nd Grade have just the one change, with Parth Suri coming up from the 3's into the middle order. In the 3's, Zac Goodwin earns a well-deserved call-up after his unbeaten fifty last weekend in the 4th Grade. Home at Price Memorial Oval this Sunday, Izzy Phillips will be making her Womens 1st Grade debut, whilst Bailey Vogt comes in for her first game of the 2020/21 season. Brigitte McGuire is back down to captain her 2nd Grade, and Ella Tilly comes up from the 3rd Grade to play her first 2's game of the season. All juniors games will play out the second day of their Round 1 clash against West Torrens this Saturday, with all teams in the field with a great chance of winning! As always, best of luck to everyone playing this weekend and let's keep up our awesome start!

01.01.2022 Don’t forget; the AGM is tomorrow night at 7:30pm in the clubrooms at Price Memorial Oval.

01.01.2022 The first half of Round 3 for the Mens Seniors was a very eventful one, with half a dozen individual performances setting up all four grades well for next weekend. Brad Davis (94) and Corey Kelly (84) led the 1st Grade to 354 at Glandore Oval in what was a fine display of discipline and intent at the crease. Out at Price Memorial Oval, veteran opener Max Schlicker (118) made a mesmerising century that has well and truly left the 2's in a strong position; 9/330 at stumps. Lac...hie Francis once again caused havoc in the 3rd Grade, taking five wickets in a superb showing of fast bowling to have Adelaide all out for 189. In the 4's, Jack Bennetts continued to ooze class with 4/18 off his 11 overs. Medium pacer Will Isaksson finished with figures of 2/28 after bowling 24 (!) overs straight, leaving Adelaide 112 all out. Today in the Women's T20 games, the 1st and 2nd Grade unfortunately were outclassed by Glenelg and Southern Districts respectively. Beth Worthley again shone through with the bat, making a much needed 36. Emily Seal and Ilona Melegh again starred with the ball for the 2nd Grade, bowling the Stingrays out for 56. Unfortunately for the 2's, they were unable to chase down the total at Bice Oval.

01.01.2022 On Saturday, the new facilities at Price Memorial Oval were officially opened, with the assistance of Nicolle Flint Member for Boothby , Carolyn Power MP and Heather Holmes-Ross Mayor of City of Mitcham The development is a major achievement, the mechanisms of which all began back in 2016, following the initial Master Plan circulated by the Council. The facilities are product of hard work, aided by using professional expertise and volunteers from our own sources to cover asp...ects of the project, construction, and financial management. Among those whose work was recognised were: Terry Pearson for outstanding management of the financials and onerous auditing requirements of the grant money Mick Harper, Rob Fraser & Rick Bartlett who, amongst many other jobs, demolished and re-built the black soil shed, and have been recognised by a plaque in the new shed Max Parker current 1st Grade player for his Architecture & Design work through Walter Brooke Nick Walter who epitomises someone who is able & willing and who has been a massive help on a range of complicated issues Jim Gulliver tireless effort supporting the 1st Grade, and was duly recognised with a plaque within the newly developed home changeroom Fred Els for his all-round support, especially his own area of expertise as the on-site Construction Manager David Bartlett our Project Manager for whom it’s been a marathon journey requiring significant perseverance, tenacity, and record-keeping Mick Weatherald who first came to the Club as a 13-year-old in 1961, he is the current Club President and founder of our highly successful Junior Academy. The newly-erected pavilion at the ground has been fittingly named after Mick. Lastly, in the 123-year history of the Club, there have been less than 100 Life Memberships awarded 7 of which have been received by members of the Bartlett family. The five generations of outstanding commitment culminated in the Bartlett family's thorough deserving of name honours for the newly-developed changerooms.

01.01.2022 Round 2 was full of ups and downs across the club, with the Mens 3rd and 4th Grade alongside the Womens 2nd Grade the only three senior teams to come away with wins. However, the juniors absolutely smashed it as all four teams came away with Round 1 wins over West Torrens #juniorbluewash There were highlights across all four grades with ball in hand, as Max Parker (1st Grade, 6/24), Jack Bennetts (4th Grade, 6/30), Angus Parker (2nd Grade, 4/24) and Alex Senior (3rd Grade, 3/...11) all caused havoc against Prospect. Keegan English was the standout batsman across the teams, with a gritty 55 (90) in the 1's. The Womens 1st Grade unfortunately couldn't chase down Southern Districts' target of 116, despite valiant efforts from Beth Worthely (30 off 51) and Neeve Reimann (3/23 off 4). The 2nd Grade however did get up, with a fine all-round performance from Ilona Melegh (1/3 off 2, 24* off 38). Nicole Hobbs also starred with ball in hand, taking two wickets for just six runs. The 3rd's toughed it out against Gepps Cross (1) with only nine players, as they had their target chased down with an over to spare. Madeline Fielke had a day out with the ball, taking an awesome 5/13 off her four overs! Highlights from the Junior's Round 1 wash were everywhere, as Under 16's players Shane Raphael, Seb MacMahon and Ed Weeks all raised the bat with fifties against West Torrens. Wickets were very evenly spread across the teams on the weekend, with all four sides winning by at least 31 runs.

01.01.2022 Brad Davis is in the XI for the Sheffield Shield opener against Western Australia. Best of luck Bobby!!
