19.01.2022 Our fae of the day today is a little dwarf. The word dwarf is applied to several different types of peoples. This is more your small woodland variety. Growing up Snow White and Rose Red was my favourite fairytale where the girls spend much of their days wandering the forest by their home. Some of their adventures feature a dwarf who gets himself into all sorts of trouble and is thoroughly ungracious when they save him. This young female dwarf has her little treasure bag with ...her. Notes on the costume: A friend gave me a piece of brown felt coming up to this challenge. I wasn't sure if I could use it but you never know so took it home. Lol the next day I suddenly thought it would be perfect to make a cute little hat and vest! We were initially going to line them, as we tend to line everything, and I think it might have been better but the blanket edging does look more rustic. We were planning to make shorts too, but planning 6 costumes and giving yourself 2 weeks is a tough call. Lol. Her treasure bay is by Toyzbag on etsy and facebook. We heve 3 of these bags now and love them. We're halfway through our prepared costumes! Come back tomorrow to see a different model! #folktaleweek #folktaleweek2020 #fairytales #intothewoods #snowwhiteandrosered #costumeplay #costumedesign #cosplay #toddlerclothing

12.01.2022 The final mosaic from instagram.

09.01.2022 Our final offtering for #folktaleweek is a chaacter in many #fairytales, the wood cutter. The everyman representing the human element. The brave fellow that dares to work in the dark woods where the fae and nightmares lurk. Chopping down trees he brings civilisation to the unruly. Notes on the costume: All the clothing is the model's own. A vintage flannel shirt that was his father's, beaning and shorts. The axe however we made for the shoot. We won't be adding axes and swor...ds to our range at this time. They would need to be quite pricey. Thank you for joining us this week for #folktaleweek2020 it was a fun challenge for us, that we maybe should have given ourselves more time to achieve. We hope you've enjoyed our offerings! #woodcutter #intothewoods #costumes #costumeplay #costumedesign

08.01.2022 Day 4 of #folktaleweek we have Little Red Riding hood. She wanders from the path as she is wont to do. Red riding hood is often seen as a coming of age story with the young girl chosing between the path laid out for her and the temptations and dangers that lay just off the path. Notes on the costume: This was a quick make on the morning of our shoot after asking our preteen what she'd like to dress as, if she anted to participate at all. Finding some red fabric in our studio ...we threw together a quick hooded cape. The fabric was a piece still on it's bolt inherited from my grandmother. While stretch is not the best for the project and it is rather rough it came up okay for the pics. Check in tomorrow for my favourite costume of the collection! #fairytales #littleredridinghood #costumeplay #cosplay #folktaleweek2020 #intothewoods

07.01.2022 Today we have a Swan Princess, who has recovered her swan dress is turning from human back to swan and her freedom. This is our second last #folktaleweek offering, and our favourite. Notes on the costume: This costume is in 3 pieces, a bonnet, wings and tutu with a white singlet onsie underneath. A lot of tulle. Tulle everywhere! We're really happy how this turned out and will definitely be adding bonnets and wings to our range. There are a few people making tutus in the mar...ket so since we found it a bit of a challenge it's not necessary that we produce those at this time. Check us out tomorrow for our last offering! #folktaleweek2020 #fairytales #swanprincess #swan #costumeplay #cosplay #costumedesign #intothewoods #toddlerclothing #intotheunknown
