25.01.2022 1262021Menzies, , , Congratulations to our volunteers Gee Wing Chung and Tony Louey, who both received a 2021 Menzies Community Australia Day Award from Hon. Kevin Andrews MP at a well-attended ceremony held at Ted Ajani Centre on 26th Jan. Their nomination and subsequent selection for an Award rightly reflect the excellent work they do for people living in the Manningham community, and particularly within the Chinese Senior Citizens Club of Manningham.

12.01.2022 202068, OAM , ... A massive congratulations to President Hardy Shum who was honoured with an OAM (Medal of the Order of Australia) by the Australian Federal Government in the Queens’s Birthday Honours list, presented on 8th June 2020. This award recognises outstanding service and exceptional achievement made by the award recipient to build a strong and caring community. It is an acknowledgement to those who choose to go the extra mile and make a difference for the benefit of others, without asking for rewards or honors. Hardy has worked tirelessly for Chinese seniors in the City of Manningham for over twenty years, weaving a thriving and lively Chinese identity into the fabric of multicultural Australian society. He has made a tremendous impact in building a friendly, welcoming community that supports Chinese seniors to enjoy and participate in culturally relevant activities and events. This enables them to engage, interact and create lasting friendships with other seniors, helping them to lead a happy, healthy, independent and fulfilling retirement. Hardy’s fervent passion and enthusiasm to serve the community has remained unchanged over the years, and he is a well-deserved recipient of this top honour. He is the pride of our Club and the Chinese community, and we are delighted that he has received recognition at the highest level.

01.01.2022 1027 BenDorothy, Our choir was invited by the Whitehorse Library to perform Singalong for Carers in Mandarin today (October 27). This event aims to provide an opportunity for caregivers to relax and relieve their stress.... Singing on the Internet is not easy. Various problems such as the Internet bandwidth, audio & video equipment as well as mobile devices used directly affect the quality of music and singing. We are very grateful to choir leaders Ben and Dorothy for their very detailed planning and organisation. We also want to thank the choir group members for their support as they have participated in many rehearsals and provided valuable advice to make today's performance a very successful event.
