06.01.2022 We dont need to be reminded about how hot it is... but perhaps we do need a reminder about how cool shade is For our last garden club session for 2019 we measured the temperature of surfaces around the school that were exposed to the sun, and in the shade. Heres Noah with an infrared thermometer. Crunching some maths on the data collected... the average difference between shaded and sun exposed surfaces was a whopping 13 degrees! This location had the biggest differen...ce of 23 degrees... The cooling effects of shade are being seriously recognised in urban areas.
