24.01.2022 Have you tried your luck at our famous Cudgen Country Fair Cent Auction! Wondering how it works? 1. A range of prizes are displayed (5 prizes every 30 mins) 2. Purchase a sheet of tickets (1 for $6 or 2 for $10)... 3. Tear the sheet into individual tickets and deposit them into the box in front of the prize that takes your fancy. Or put the whole sheet in one box for more chances to win!!! 4. A winner is drawn for each prize. The boxes are emptied and we start again! Along with hampers of pet goods, baby goods, toys and outdoor items there are individual prizes like Birkenstocks, gift vouchers, pampering vouchers and Kingscliff Beach Hotel Event double passes! 02.01.2022 Here are just a handful of social media apps that have become increasingly popular with children and young people. While some of these are completely innocent a...nd we hope your children never experience bullying, harassment or exploitation, time and time again we see people use these apps to target, abuse and manipulate young people - be that sexual, criminal or online bullying. Knowledge is power speak to your children about their mobile usage. Set your expectations for what it will be used for and talk to them about online safety. You can find out more at https://www.esafety.gov.au/key-issues/esafety-guide build the expectation that you will trust them with the device, on the condition that they will be honest and open with you if something goes wrong. Remember not to blame them if it happens - nobody deserves to be abused or bullied. If your child is contacted by someone who pressures them into doing things they don’t want to, or bullies and harasses them, encourage them to tell you. Having open conversations about safety is paramount to making sure they stay safe, and are savvy about how they use these apps. This doesn’t just mean sexual exploitation; we have seen examples of classmates using social media to gang up on, and bully their friends. This is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Remember, if you have concerns a child is being harassed or exploited contact your local Police station and if a child is at immediate risk or in danger it’s always 000. Knowledge is power help them to protect themselves.
