18.01.2022 Question that was not approved for "Ask a Cult Expert" At the time Dr Mann was working on a case against the Watchtower, so she had to be careful what she said ...in public. Question: Why do you say Jehovah Witnesses are a cult? Dr Mann: The practices of Jehovah Witnesses are harmful. I find their medical practices to be of concern, their denial of immunization, a lack of respect for medical interventions, the blood transfusion issue. I find this a high criteria for a high demand group. They practice deception. They use deceptive recruitment. They are secretive. They don't allow informed consent especially with children. Children are not allowed to have the information they need in order to make good decisions. They have fear based practices, a lack of respect for education, employ scare tactics to retain and control their members.
