25.01.2022 Junior Pennants Once again we are happy to report that our Junior Pennant team won their match against Lynwood 4 to 2 on Sunday. Both teams endured extremely blustery conditions at the difficult Liverpool Golf Course however, our boys held their nerve at the finish with 5 of the 6 individual contests being decided on the 18th green! Special mention to Noah Eldick whom has so far been undefeated in the series. Individual results:... Alex Foreman lost 2 down Bailey Leafe won 2 up Vake Piukala won 1 up Blake Komorowski lost 4/2 Hamish MCAuley won 1 up Noah Eldick won 1 up Our final game is at home this Sunday 8/11/20 against Liverpool, when we hope to use home ground advantage for another win. 23.01.2022 Major Pennant Update A courageous Cumberland major Pennant team was defeated by Cabramatta on Sunday at Riverside Oaks 5 matches to 2. Whilst Cabramatta team showed true grit in their win Cumberland was close to stealing the victory turning around some crucial matches in the later stages. A couple of lucky bounces was all the difference between the two teams. The loss does have a positive for the Club with the teams efforts being awarded with a promotion to division 2 next ye...ar. The team has done the club very proud over a very long season which started in February and finished in December. On another positive congratulations to Isaak on going through the entire season undefeated and congratulations to the team as a whole for reaching the final in major pennants. This has not been achieved in the last 25 years. The team deserves a break and a big thank you before it all starts again in late January! Results were ARTHUR BARAKAT Won 4/3 ISAAK PEMBLE Square JOSH RUSSO Lost 3/2 TIM HILL Square but was 2 up playing 17 SHANNON BRIDGER (CAPTAIN) Lost 4/3 MATT ANDREW Lost 2/1 JOSH MADELINE Lost 1up

14.01.2022 On an extremely hot day at Carnarvon the team took on the Division 3 winners, Wallacia, in the first of the Finals matches. In a good solid performance we had a 5.5 - 2.5 victory which now places us into the quarter finals against either Nelson Bay or Camden. Individual results were - Mark Hay - won 1up... Phil Britton - square Robert Shield - lost 3/2 Bruce Lee - won 7/5 Kerry Whitby - won 4/3 Steve Greene - square Bob Wyburd - won 5/4 Sonny Sun - square With 3 matches being halved it is easy to see that it doesn't take much to turn the score around. 06.01.2022 Super Senior Pennant - Round 6 This game was played at Stonecutters Ridge on Thursday having been rescheduled from Monday due to rain. Weather again played its hand with most of the matches not reaching actual completion due to a massive thunderstorm which hit late in the afternoon. However, as all matches had gone past 9 holes the competition rules allowed the matches to be declared based on the scores at the time of stoppage. This resulted in a 6-2 win to Cumberland over th...e previously undefeated Penrith. With one game to play next Monday against Twin Creeks at Cabramatta the team is well placed to take second position behind Castle Hill and move forward to the finals. Individual results were: Mark Hay lost 3 down Phil Britton square Robert Shield square Bruce Lee won 3 up Kerry Whitby won 2 up Steve Greene won 6/5 Bob Wyburd won 4 up Sonny Son won 1up Bob McPherson Team Manager

05.01.2022 SUPER SENIOR PENNANT 2020 Our charge to the final came to a halt on Tuesday when we were defeated 6.5 - 1.5 by Forster Tuncurry at Horizons. It was a game display by our boys but the consistency of the opposition proved too much in the end. Individual results were - ... Mark Hay - square Phil Britton - lost 4/3 Sonny Sun - lost 5/4 Bob Wyburd - lost 4/2 Bruce Lee - lost 5/4 Robert Shield - square Kerry Whitby - square Steve Greene - lost 4/3 The team lost only 2 games during the entire season - Castle Hill and Forster Tuncurry - and as it is likely that these two teams will be this year's finalists next week some solace can be taken from the fact that we were beaten by the best. This is the last report for this season and in closing I must pay tribute to the cameraderie which existed in the team. The campaign was run with only 9 players and only once did John Kenyon get to play - and he won. A special thank you to John who still turned up at every match. That's team spirit! Phil Britton proved to be an able and enthusiastic Captain whose involvement and thoughtfulness never waned. All in all it was a most pleasant experience to be involved with such a great group which played all its games in the true Cumberland spirit. Hopefully, we can go to the next step in 2021. 04.01.2022 Junior Pennants Our Junior Pennant team won their last match of the season against Liverpool 5 to 1 at home last Sunday. This result allowed them to complete the series with 3 wins from 5 matches - a terrific result! It is important to note that all of the boys represented Cumberland admirably, supported each other as a team and played some great golf. Congrats to Noah for going through undefeated. With all the boys being eligible again next year we are certain even bet...ter results are likely. Individual results: Alex Foreman won 2/1 Bailey Leafe won 8/6 Vake Piukala won 4/2 Blake Komorowski lost 6/4 Hamish MCAuley won 4/3 Noah Eldick won 3/2 As first time Managers we both enjoyed the experience and last but not least, a big thank you to all the parents who supported the team each week in some cold and wet weather! Regards, Matt Andrew & Brad Ferguson Co-Managers
