23.01.2022 Not a bad view to go with a delicious lunch. We facilitated a development and planning day for the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation last week. We ran some team-building exercises in the morning, then hosted a very fruitful strategic planning meeting.

23.01.2022 More storage for our extra tables, chairs, and function-ware. 40 foot sea container arrived today.

22.01.2022 We're hosting a small group for their offsite today. We hope they like the view over lunch!

21.01.2022 We installed these combination water tanks & garden planters in winter. They store water collected from the homestead and shower block roofs, and they also give us an amazing kitchen garden.

21.01.2022 New rainwater tank arrived at the homestead today to capture precious rainwater from the workshop roof. Sustainable Living.

17.01.2022 In conjunction with CIT’s floral exhibition come and share a Devonshire tea at Cuppa. Bookings essential. https://chdevonshiretea.eventbrite.com.au/

15.01.2022 Own a piece of Cuppacumbalong - handmade kitchen knives made with reclaimed 150 year-old timber now available: https://cuppacumbalong.com.au/en/shop A year or so ago we were restraining our fence-line along the Murrumbidgee river. We were clearing blackberries when we found some broken fence posts buried in the ground. They were rotten at the bottom, but solid at the top, making them too short to be reused in the fence. They were crying out to be reclaimed for another purpose..., so we're using some of the smallest pieces to make handles for 19th century farmhouse style cutlery. The timber is Blakely’s Red Gum, which saw extensive use during the pioneer era. The fence-line from which this timber was reclaimed dates to works conducted at Cuppacumbalong in the 1870’s. Not only do these utensils incorporate reclaimed material from Cuppacumbalong Homestead, but they are handmade in situ by bladesmiths from Tharwa Valley Forge at their Cuppacumbalong workshop. They are superior grade carbon steel kitchen knives based on 19th century patterns, and include: a Chef knife, Paring knife, Butcher knife, Cleaver, Boning knife, and a Gardener's Friend. Free tracked shipping within Australia, local pickup of online orders available from Tharwa Valley Forge.

15.01.2022 Thank you to all the lovely guests and visitors that enjoyed floristry workshops, tea and scones, guided tours, farm stays and more at Cuppacumbalong this weekend. We had a fantastic weekend and glad to see so many people enjoying the space.

14.01.2022 Garden blooming in time for this weekend. Enjoy the gardens and the Native Flowers exhibition in the homestead by CIT second year floristry students. 10-4. Saturday and Sunday

13.01.2022 It seems the Gardener's Friend is the most popular item in our cutlery range. Tharwa Valley Forge has just finished another handmade batch, so there are plenty available again. The design dates back to a garden tool used in the 1800's and the handle is reclaimed 150 year-old timber from a fencepost at Cuppacumbalong. You can get one here: https://cuppacumbalong.com.au/en/shop

13.01.2022 New paths are looking amazing. Big thanks to Heritage ACT for the grant, and to our staff and volunteers for their hard work. 04.01.2022 Cuppacumbalong - meeting of the waters #meetingplace #murrumbidgeeriver #gudgenbyriver

04.01.2022 Cottage is getting a new roof today! It started life in the 1850's as stables and was renovated into a Pisa style cottage in the early 20th century. It's a real honour to be the current custodians of Cuppacumbalong and it's heritage, so we're thrilled when we can tick-off big projects like this.

04.01.2022 Spot of painting inside the coach house. Check out this beautiful old hot water copper and firebox!

04.01.2022 Improving our pathways thanks to a grant from ACT Heritage. Been at it a few days now, today we made big progress towards improving wheelchair access to the toilets.

02.01.2022 3 years ago and today. Huge thank you to Park Care vollies, Maurice and Trish and the many others who have helped transform the Cuppa garden. Hopefully some more rain will give the new plantings a growth spurt
