24.01.2022 The stillness before the shearing. Not silence.Rams were first at the other farm so Curly Girls and I are ready and the food is ready.



21.01.2022 It has been busy Shearing is now finished after weather issues and there are lambs everywhere . Lots of lovely fleeces available . Happy for visits to choose your fluff. Just heads up for postage it is slower than usual but still getting through. I will post some fleece pics next week.

13.01.2022 Hi everyone, Hope you are all doing well staying at home.Just a wee catch up from the shed I can go to the shed .Tim has been busy adding onto the pens on the Curly Girls shearing shed.He sees this lovely space as pens but I just ordered water connection as I see it as dye studio.The Elliotdales were shorn last week such sweet souls. I have just been packing some orders and found some yummy fleeces stashed if anyone needs some while isolating .Really nice Polworth as well.

12.01.2022 Lambingin full story swing some lovely fibre growers arriving today liking the the sun .A maiden Elliotdale just had twins as did her mother.The one with the black lamb is a English Leicester /Finn cross and the lamb is sired by the black Finn ram.Plus a little bit of weaving using unspun long wools.

06.01.2022 Curly Wool welcomes the first triplets for the year.Mum has a stunning fleece the darker lambs are really dark brown.Interesting to see how they grow.

05.01.2022 Weather and other issues have made securing a shearing day a bit messy. We unexpectedly were able to slot in today at the last minute . Mad scramble but its too the shed. Thank you Steve and Miles for doing this. Weird thing is it is the same day as last year. I will take a couple of days to dig myself out of fleeces so if I dont reply I will get to it.

05.01.2022 Elliotdale maiden ewe in re education camp .Hates her lamb .Fostered another mystery Elliotdale which must be a triplet that wandered away because all the ewes had 2. Finn ewe lost her lamb but seems to like this one.Some handspun different Rare Breeds for a project .Lastly brainwashing starts early Hunter us teaching his pet lamb to lead for the show.

02.01.2022 Longest Thread, 2021 update. Entries open 1st September 2020 through to 28th February 2021. Please post as early as you can to allow for the slow movement of in...ternational post. The postage address is PO Box 536 Devonport Tasmania 7310 Australia. There are two categories, wool and alpaca, with three sections in each - wheel, e-spinner, spindle. You may enter any or all sections in both categories only once. The entry fee has been reduced for 2021 to $5 per entry. The return postage is a flat rate $10 to Australia, $15 to New Zealand, $25 all international. If you don't want your entries returned they will be added to the Friendship Ball. The updates are yet to be finalised on the website, the payment portal and entry form will be up soon. Basics of the competition - 10g of washed sheep or alpaca fleece spun and two plied. Dyed and commercially processed fiber NOT to be used. Natural coloured is fine.
