14.01.2022 Post-natal depression affects around one in every seven women who give birth in Australia each year. Symptoms can be mild, moderate or severe and can appear sud...denly or gradually. If someone you know is experiencing postnatal depression, the support of family members and close friends is vital. This week check in on a new mum in your life - call them, ask if they need help, and remind them that they're not alone

14.01.2022 Welcome to Currumbin Medical Centre Dr. Mark Friel

14.01.2022 While one dose of the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccine offers some protection against measles, two doses are required to be fully protected. If you were... born during / since 1966 or are unsure if you have received both doses of MMR, check with your GP. If you are travelling overseas this is VERY important. #vaccination #MMR #measles #herdimmunity See more

10.01.2022 Friendly reminder! The flu vaccine is now available! Gold Coast mum Courtney Potts cut a holiday short and rushed her then two-year-old daughter Maddison to... hospital when she showed serious flu symptoms. Maddy kept having little coughing fits and stopped eating. She just wasn’t herself and had high temps, so we came back home. Maddie went downhill quickly though, began vomiting and was almost unresponsive, Courtney said. As soon as a rash developed, we went to Robina Hospital and they took us straight in to a private room. They gave Maddie antibiotics and vaccinations straight away and took swabs on the spot." She was then transferred to Gold Coast University Hospital - GCUH where she stayed for two nights. Since last April, nearly 450 people have been admitted to our hospitals with influenza, with 32 of those requiring ICU admissions.

10.01.2022 We hope everyone enjoyed their Easter long weekend. After getting over the last chocolate-induced few days, maybe it’s time to book the kids in for a free dental appointment! Ring 1300 300 850 for more information.

05.01.2022 Once you turn 50 your risk of bowel cancer increases but if it is detected early treatment has up to a 90% success rate. The bowel cancer screening program aims... to reduce the morbidity and mortality from bowel cancer by actively recruiting and screening the eligible target population aged 50-74 for early detection or prevention of the disease. Currently the Gold Coast participation is lower than the national participation rate. To find out more and when to expect your kit in the mail visit http://ow.ly/T7b750uuQn4 or speak to your GP http://ow.ly/GNak50uuQn3 See more
