20.01.2022 Today, the 15th of June, marks World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD). On this day, individuals and organisations highlight the indicators of ageism inequality experienced by our elderly and the importance of the rights of older people. Elder abuse is any act which causes harm to an older person and is carried out by someone they know and trust such as a family member or friend. The abuse may be physical, social, financial, psychological or sexual and can include mistreatmen...t and neglect. This year, Curtin Heritage Living encouraged their staff to wear something purple in support of WEAAD. If you are a victim of abuse and do not wish to speak directly to police, you can call the Elder Abuse Hotline on 1300 724 679 and they will assist and support you with handling your abuse claim. There is no excuse for elder abuse. #CurtinHeritageLiving #ContinueALifeWellLived #WEAAD2020 #ThereIsNoExcuseForElderAbuse

11.01.2022 With much trepidation, Curtin Heritage Living undertook a soft launch of our stage one retirement living development, Waterfront Cottesloe, mid-COVID-19. We have been amazed by the positive response by local residents with 75% of stage one already committed. The overwhelming response has given us courage to move ahead with our future stages. We already have 18 commitments in our next stage and have a line of residents looking to commit in the coming weeks. On analysis, our in...coming residents are looking to rightsize, not downsize. They are also looking for a range of lifestyle options while they are healthy but, acutely aware that they may need services to support them in the future. We look forward to sharing our insights as our project progresses. #CutinHeritageLiving #ContinueALifeWellLived #WaterfrontCottesloe #LuxuryResidents #UltimateRetirementLiving #RightSizing #IndependentLiving #RetirementLiving #RetirementCommunity
