24.01.2022 Last weekend we were finally able to get some rubber on asphalt at Wanneroo Raceway to test and validate design decisions made. We were able tune the CVT and test out new bellcranks and swaybar. We got some valuable data thatll help us keep improving our designs.

24.01.2022 Förch Australia supplies our team with high-quality fasteners and consumables that we use for manufacture every day. Their products can be consistently relied upon and keeps our car in one piece!

24.01.2022 Here are a few shots of CMT19 at Collie Motorplex from when it was too early to give away any secrets!

23.01.2022 With Swarbrick Technologies guidance and experience we have been able to continue using infusion to manufacture our nosecone and share the learning process with our team members. This is a unique learning opportunity and something we would not be able to do without their help. This year they have also been able to support the team with the machining of bellcranks and eccentric housings to help us reach our early driving deadline. We cherish the spirit they show for our learning and the ongoing support of our team. Thank you Swarbrick Technologies!

23.01.2022 We would like to thank our sponsor, TeXtreme, for providing the team with their special Spread Tow Fabric (STF) carbon fibre. This unique weave allows our aerodynamics team to develop even lighter components which increases our cars performance on the track.

22.01.2022 Massive thanks to SFDesign, our latest supporter, for printing our intake throttle body in Onyx material with their Markforged 3D printers. The Onyx material is Markforgeds nylon thermoplastic infused with chopped carbon fibre. This has increased the stiffness to weight ratio of our throttle body therefore, increasing the durability of our throttle assembly.

21.01.2022 With the completion and testing of our latest 2020 car, we are using this unique opportunity of a competition-free year to pursue our long term plans of an electric vehicle transition. To kickstart the manufacture and testing of our 2021 EV prototype, we have acquired an Emrax 228 motor, along with a Bamocar D3 inverter. With accumulator designs and machining coming along, we are really excited for the next chapter of our team! Wishing everyone the best of luck in their exams, and we are looking forward to posting more updates in the near future!

16.01.2022 A big thanks Unique Metals Laser (Unique Metal Works) for profiling our chassis tubes with their 6-axis Space Gear 510 Mark II 4KW 3D laser cutter, and for helping weld CMT20s chassis together. Fortunately, earlier this year, we were invited to the workshop to watch our chassis tubes being profiled and learn more about Unique Metal Works. Were grateful for all the support that they have provided us!

15.01.2022 A big thanks to Altium for supporting the team this year, and hopefully many more years to come! With the licenses provided the CMT electrical team has been able to continue researching and designing boards from home. The video shows a bit of what goes into designing the boards used in our car. These boards play a crucial part in helping us validate and test design choices through data acquisition.

14.01.2022 We'd like to thank Noell and the team at NF Engineering for their continued support of the team by machining various small elements of the car such as the top hats and flat wing washers that we use on our aero package. We've replaced specific steel top hats with their aluminium counterparts for some sweet weight savings.

14.01.2022 The team would like to thank our sponsors, supporters, Curtin faculty, alumni, team members, and Curtin University for the continued support of CMT throughout 2020. The unveiling and launch of our 2020 car was a huge success, and we would like to thank everyone who attended for making it a great night of speeches, presentations, and networking. All in all, it was a great time for everyone attending. Stay tuned for more exciting news to come.

10.01.2022 Ceva Logistics have been long time sponsors of CMT, providing freight services across the country as we attend the annual FSAE-A Competition. We would like to thank CEVA for the safe travels they have provided for CMT over the years.

10.01.2022 We would like to thank RCR Mining Technologies for lending the team their facilities and expertise to carry out heat treatment on 19s and 20s chassis. The heat treatment removes residual stresses and microstructural changes in the metal.

10.01.2022 As part of the Formula Student community, we all have an important responsibility to do the right thing for the health, safety, and wellbeing of not only our team members, but the extended families and friends of our peers. It is no secret that this current COVID-19 threat is impacting the entire world and as such, we do not take this threat lightly. For the past week, we have been trialing new procedures to allow our projects to commence from home while also making sure we ...have adequate support and resources available outside our workshop. It has not been easy to implement these restrictive changes given the large dependency of face to face communication within an FSAE team; and we are doing our absolute best to act quickly and appropriately to the ever changing situation here in Western Australia. As disappointing as it is to be giving up manufacture and testing time with people at home, we know it is in the best interest of everyones safety. This aside, we are enjoying the challenge of coming up with new innovative ways to design a race car from home! We would like to wish our university staff, our sponsors, and other teams the best of luck in these difficult and uncertain times and we hope the 2020 Australasian season can continue as normal soon.

09.01.2022 The unveiling of the teams final IC car.

09.01.2022 Thanks, Calm Aluminium For their continued support of CMT by providing us with high-quality Aluminium billets which help us to design critical components while saving weight.

08.01.2022 ALS Tribology have supported CMT for years now, providing us with valuable chemical training and testing services. We would like to thank them for their continued support.

07.01.2022 With the 2019 FSAE-A Competition coming to a close, we would like to take this moment to thank our friends, family, university staff, and sponsors for making this year possible. Over the course of the weekend we were able to secure awards in 3 out of 5 dynamic events. Skid Pad... Autocross Efficiency Unfortunately despite our promising pace, we did not finish the endurance event, falling short just one lap from the finish line. Placing 5th overall for the IC class, we are looking forward to next years competition!

07.01.2022 With exam season starting, we thought it would be appropriate to celebrate with one last drive of CMT19 before it ships over to Victoria for FSAE-A! We would like to take this opportunity to thank CEVA Logistics for their ongoing support. Our 2019 car has seen many hours of track testing here in Western Australia, and with CEVA freighting our car and equipment over east, we can hit the ground running with final vehicle setup tweaks before competition!

07.01.2022 Wed like to thank Noell and the team at NF Engineering for their continued support of the team by machining various small elements of the car such as the top hats and flat wing washers that we use on our aero package. Weve replaced specific steel top hats with their aluminium counterparts for some sweet weight savings.
