NIBA, together with QBE, announced the five regional winners from around Australia of the 2020 Broker of the Year awards in a virtual ceremony held yesterday. These prestigious awards celebrate the best in broking. Regional award winners are selected for exemplifying the highest standards of professional excellence and competence in general insurance broking, and for demonstrating outstanding technical knowledge, client advocacy and customer service. Shelley, a Senior Insurance Broker based at our Como office, has been part of the Phoenix Insurance Brokers family since 2016. The NIBA Broker of the Year Awards are given to brokers around the country who are deemed to be inspirational role models within the broking community. Managing Director of Phoenix Insurance Brokers, David White said, That’s certainly true of Shelley who always goes above and beyond in her role at Phoenix and in her dealings with clients. This year’s awards attracted a significant number of applications so being named a finalist really is an outstanding achievement. Shelley will now enjoy an increased industry profile, and a chance to win the overall award the Stephen Ball Memorial Award for Insurance Broker of the Year to be announced in October. She will compete with the four other regional winners from New South Wales/ACT, Queensland, South Australia/Northern Territory, and Victoria/Tasmania.
