25.01.2022 Well done to our boys over at Team Apex finishing second overall for the year and pulling the big bream out on the final round It’s been a tough year for you fellas, fishing, not fishing, dealing with Covid guidelines and all that you guys are still having a ball doing it. Hats off to you guys and thank you for all the support, we love it

25.01.2022 All around Australia the kayak fisho’s are stocking up on their favourite lures, losing them and sneaking in the last pre fish. They hunt for not only personal glory but bragging rights and the earned place against top anglers of each state. These competitions are full of great people with all sorts of skill levels, if your just starting or are seasoned fisho, it’s your choice with amateur or pro divisions. Comp day is personally one of my favourite parts of fishing! Ca...tching up with mates meeting legends, then rallying together for presentation, lying about fish and clapping in the winners of some AMAZING prizes If competition isn’t your thing, every state has a great ‘Facebook page’ based community. Where you can ask questions, source all your gear and meet some pretty cool people with the same love for kayaking Not all of them will give your the secret spot to fish but they can help with new spots to float in and all important launch areas, even take you! I have some life friends because of this page and I hope you enjoy what it has to offer! Click the link and check the page out Yak Hunters Australia And here’s the Qld competition link

25.01.2022 Got a hole in your hole Shallow enough to get in and roll out so we welded it tight without a sleeve A quick water test back on the water. Great news for all customers...We do free water testing on all water line repairs! We guarantee you float!

24.01.2022 Got alloy stains from your racks? Easy fixed

24.01.2022 We seriously have the best customers! The stories we hear and the people we meet on the road are just another reason to love doing what we do. Which brings me to this call out. We received a hurried call from Andy asking if we could repair some cracks in his kayak and as quickly as possible.. (Andy)Weve booked a holiday next to the water and couldnt imagine the trip with out it With a quote sorted and time arranged Got greeted by (the better half) and craft master Brahma. What a fantastic and smart lady! Humbly she told me she likes craft and brings this wine bottle out, etched and plugged with battery operated fairy lights inside So after chatting our way through the repair we had to have a quick pic of proud people and their work. Another great day in my office.

23.01.2022 Storage 101: This kayak was stored with weight in the rear well for an unknown amount of time But not only did it have a two seperate cracks in the well walls it also had a split drive well, past the mast button underneath. Wouldnt be a repair without a little superglue to clean up either no it doesnt work . . .... . #cusfab #keepingyoufloating #kayakrepair See more

22.01.2022 Getting creative with a two piece keel guard for a recent customer...after I ran my hand over it 50 timesSmoothness. The Hobie Revo is built for speed and having a sleek guard will definitely help cut through the water and give the hull years of protectionlooks beautiful

22.01.2022 Our focus has been entirely on quality repairs and custom welding so we don’t have returned repairs All whilst in the background our customers have been talking about us and becoming a huge driving force in our success. Hobie owner John from Poona, outside of Maryborough was told by one of our top customers that Cusfab was the only business to call massive recommends that I will never forget! After arranging a quick quote John trekked down to Brisbane to see wh...at all the fuss was about With the kayak being an upgraded age the repair was concerning! This Hobie had sleeves factory installed to provide strength when using the the infamous scupper trolley, unfortunately leaving any boat on trollies will cause some damage. So we took the sleeves out, repaired the crack and welded our HDPE Sleeves in to replace the Happy customer Yesss Please feel free to hit the recommend button on the page and to all that continue to support us, we hear all the praises and see your much appreciated shares Thank you so much! . . . . . #cusfab #keepingyoufloating #kayakrepair #recommends #queensland #localboygettingrep #lovesouthafricans See more

21.01.2022 One of the oldest YouTube DIY patches had Garreth concerned he made it worse..turns out the still leaking Bunnings candle and wire mesh basically peeled of with a bit of heat 300degrees and 4.5mm of plastic, strapping a sweet keel gaurd down thatll keep this Viking profish going for 30years Not sure if the boat made it home before it was slaying bass at the local great fish man. . .... . . . #cusfab #kayakrepair #keelfeels #bass #queensland #DIWithus See more

20.01.2022 Whats worse then a scupper trolley...? A homemade one This double scupper repair is the worst weve seen by far and needed our kayak repair specialty. With all #Hobie scuppers weve custom made sleeves that slide in and make the scupper twice as strong, unfortunately the damage was so bad on this we had to double the sleeves to fit. Any repairs, any custom welding hit us up for a free quote and trust the only kayak repair specialist...Cusfab .... . . . . 19.01.2022 Major plastic surgery and this Perception is alive again. We had a customer drop his beloved floatation device in to help with a repair that didnt last. And as you can see its a doozy Ever wanted to see a soldering iron fix at its best...then here it is. We really dont think whoever patched it couldve done a better job but we all know by now, a couple of strap downs later and the real flexing begins. The water test revealed 9 seperate leaks which quickly turned into... a water fall with a thump to the bottom. 2hrs cutting and shutting and you could take sledge hammer to it Best part is watching the customer load up and process where the closest water is happy days. . . . . . . . #cusfab #kayakrepair #keepingyoufloating See more

18.01.2022 Lets get into it well start with a good a friend of ours Jaco getting some plastic surgery, and just in time for Queensland dams to re-open after Covid-19. Load will always be an issue for all kayaks but we are finding raised seats can expose weak or aged PE in the case of this 06 PA14. After the Cusfab touch, Jaco was quickly back on the water putting some nice Aussie bass in the boat Great fish mate, well have to catch up for a flick.

16.01.2022 Check your friends and family if you know anyone that was on the water this morning. Sad news if it’s not just a lost kayak stay safe

16.01.2022 Weve decided to temporarily close this wonderful business I call Cusfab. Ive come to this decision because we are a service that is mostly mobile and have counted in the risk factor to not only our customers but our loved ones at home. To our booked or current customers, we have contacted you and hope you can continue our service with you as soon as possible, we will certainly need your help when we bounce back. Sorry for any inconvenience. ... I did not come to this business decision lightly but I did come to the moral one very easy. I am still down with a flu after being tested negative for Covid19 and feel that if I continued what I deem a non essential service I would put the health of society and my family at risk. My moral stance has grown way past economics in regards to Coronavirus and its spread. I hope the stay at home recommendations can be exercised by as many people and business as possible. I can understand if thats not sustainable for others but please stay your distance, please stay home if you can, but most of all stay safe. David from Cusfab.

15.01.2022 Someone made a mess trying to fix this kayak. Silicone, expanda foam, melted milk bottles and PVC Cement. 14.01.2022 We officially have a ‘weld tester’ all 6ft100 mountain of a man who has agreed to push his seat landing repair to the limit! Over engineering a repair is how we would normally approach this crack, because of the constant load on the area the concern is a re-repair and we wouldn’t ever consider putting a bandaid on a kayak for it just to fall off, that’s not how we operate! In comes Todd We forecast this repair being a top ten repair in the future so with some hugs and kiss...es Todd has agreed to test the standard cut and shut, weld repair. He’s an honest and humble man and I’ve told him that I want this to be public knowledge, weld fail or not I have complete faith in my welds so I really can’t wait to see him try and destroy them and share his findings with us . . . . . #cusfab #keepingyoufloating #kayakrepair #toddthedestroyer #testmywelds #queensland See more

13.01.2022 Never seen anyone stick by this warranty void. Is anyone actually storing their kayaks upside down?

12.01.2022 We’ve seen a lot a of different soft spots in kayaks but never at critical points like the seat rail...cringe worthy. A lot of pre fabrication went in to this, the plastic is so thin on the kayak we had knife edge bevel the HDPE platforms so the weld would penetrate without blowing holes in the kayak some heavy duty platforms right there!! . . .... . . #cusfab #kayakrepairspecialist #keepingyoufloating #queensland See more

11.01.2022 Thank you all for your support through the last couple of weeks, we really appreciate your patience and have received nothing but positive feedback. I think we have played our part in the fight to flatten the curve and as we move forward we will strive to continue that into the future. We have started to contact customers that have been in touch with us over the break and are very happy to announce we will start to stager out repairs over the next week to fit you all in saf...ely.
