18.01.2022 It has been extremely testing over the last few months as the freight industry continues to work through the unprecedented demand in service. Border closures around the country have delayed trucks moving from state to state, heavily imposed restrictions in Victoria slowing down industry, reduced labour force within our network of depots whilst having to handle higher volume. All this leads to delays in freight moving around the country. The flow-on effect of the freight delay...s is the increased volume of calls being made to the carriers to enquire about said delays along with an increase in time to conduct enquiries on the freight. At times, it is difficult to provide an accurate delivery date at the moment as some destination yield unknown transit times due to processing. Take these factors into account and allow an extra 2-5 days on transit times. Our team will, as always, continue to deliver the best possible service to you that we can under these circumstances. With all that said, we suggest that you plan for this leading into Christmas and let your own customers know of the issues being faced around the country with every business and every carrier. Stay safe and positive! #freight #transport #logistics #transportmangement #supplychain #COVID #delays

13.01.2022 Since the COVID pandemic peaked in Australia in March, the demand for freight has been consistently at the same level that carriers see over November and December each year. Transport giant AusPost has seen a 170% growth in Victoria as well as an 80% growth nationally. The sudden increase and consistent demand for freight has put significant strain on the Logistics industry. On top of this demand for services, Victorian depots have needed to decrease their workforce by 33% t...o adhere to operational restrictions instructed by the government. Leading into November and December freight requirements will continue to increase. This will have the potential of greater delays and Christmas cut off deliveries brought forward to ensure all freight is delivered by the holiday break. It is important to plan early and keep these delays in mind as Christmas approaches. So, how have AusPost responded to COVID and what is the plan leading into Christmas? #freight #logistics #supplychain #auspost #christmastrading #cybersales #transport #transportmanagement #solution #preparedness #covid19business Photo credit - Australia Post
