14.01.2022 This customer wanted a solution to keep the camper trailer batteries charged while in transit but also needed to be able to park the trailer in the shade once set up and still harness the power from the sun. We installed the panel on the front kitchen box of the trailer so that its completely detachable. When the customer sets up the camper, they have 15 meters of 4mm DC cable to run the solar panel out into the open and the full sunlight.

05.01.2022 Q. Can you use Grid connect solar panels on a 12 volt installation? A. Yes. In the past, youve had to match the voltage of the solar panel with the voltage of the battery. Some cheaper "12-volt" solar panels will only output 12v in peak sunlight meaning that a battery will never receive the 14+ volt charge that it requires. Likewise, connecting a higher voltage solar panel designed for a grid connect system will lead to overcharging the battery and doing damage if not causi...ng an explosion. To get around this, we use a range of Victron Charge Controllers. These allow you to connect multiple solar panels at varying voltages and amps in which the charge controller then clips/reduces the output to a healthy battery charging rate. This means that you can safely harness the energy from the sun during the peak daily sun hours and maximise the energy sent to your battery.
