22.01.2022 There was an instant connection when business owners Matt and Julie met jobseeker Jake. Ballarat CVGT Australia had been working with Southern Cross Home Maintenance Service to find the right person to join their local business. When Matt and Julie met Jake, they immediately wanted to give him the opportunity to work within their business.... Jake was given a gardening position at Southern Cross Home Maintenance for eight hours per week. In his new role, Jake has learnt a range of skills from gardening to mowing, weeding and yard cleanups and has become part of a team. With the help of Southern Cross Home Maintenance and staff at the Ballarat CVGT office, Jake has developed other skills such as work ethic, communication, time management, organisation and the importance of packing your lunch! Since employing Jake, Matt and Julie have employed more team members through CVGT Australia. Thank you Matt and Julie for being so generous in providing the opportunity for people to join your business and thrive. You can read more about Jake’s story via our website https://bit.ly/2V0d4Z2

06.01.2022 Always Was, Always Will Be. This year, the NAIDOC Week theme is Always Was, Always Will Be. https://www.naidoc.org.au/get-involved/2020-theme... Always Was, Always Will Be recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for more than 65,000 years. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. CVGT is developing its Reconciliation Action Plan that will drive our contribution to reconciliation both internally and in the communities in which we operate. We continue to commit to respectful relationships and create meaningful opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our staff have produced this Reconciliation Statement of Intent video to affirm our commitment. #NAIDOC Week 2020: http://vicnaidoc.com.au/events #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek Bendigo & District Aboriginal Co-Operative
