25.01.2022 Visited a lady yesterday with a well set-up sewing room (quilting machine, 4 embroidery sewing machines (!) and an over locker). She had all her threads on one wall. No spotlight threads there. Asked where she got her threads - ordered from Marathon. https://marathonaustralia.com.au - thought I would share that little tidbit!!

State President Stephanie Stanhope, MacQuarie Group President Karen McHale, past State President & CWA of A Secretary Ruth Shanks, CWA of A Treasurer Ruth Cargill and Group Treasurer Tracy Blackburn (OK - we have the last 3 most of the time ). We also had guest speakers from Housing Plus who spoke to us regarding Domestic Violence - the CWA theme for Awareness Week.

22.01.2022 CWA of NSW has been and will continue to provide support to bushfire affected communities right across the state. This work will continue throughout the recover...y period. We thank everyone for their support and generous spirit at this time. Your support is what enables us to stand with those impacted and provide assistance where we can. In terms of how you can support us; at this time we are unable to coordinate distribution of goods. That said, if there is a specific branch or charitable organisation calling for specific goods we very much encourage and support that but please ensure there is: a place for your goods, and a way to get them to areas in need, before arranging a collection. We have been and we will continue to utilise our Disaster Relief Fund to support the work of our branches. Please keep in mind that many branch members have been individually impacted themselves, and may not be immediately contactable. If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to our Disaster Relief Fund there are details here. Details are here https://www.cwaofnsw.org.au/page.php?id=54 Thank you again for all of your support at this unprecedented time

19.01.2022 Weve had reports of people knocking on doors saying they are fundraising for CWA. This is not a genuine fundraiser. Please do not give funds to people coming d...oor-to-door asking for money. Those who wish to support our Disaster Relief Fund can donate online at https://www.cwaofnsw.org.au/donate For more information on these types of scams go to: https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/types-of-scams/fake-charities

06.01.2022 Today we acted as a depot for a Rural Aid hay drop sponsored by Woolworths. Terry & Joe spent time in front of a camera and made unloading 4 road trains look ea...sy (did it way faster then expected so had to slow down so there was still some activity when the Woolies CEO arrived). About 33 livestock farmers from around Dubbo received a few bales of hay each out of this drop. As we all know - will hardly touch the sides however it does show that we are not alone and that somewhere someone helped us a bit. Got to say - being a little bit involved in the admin side of this one behind the scenes... not easy to co-ordinate!!! See more
