11.01.2022 Soft plastics (anything you can "scrunch") don't belong in landfill. They also shouldn't go into your yellow-lid recycling bin. Keep a separate bag for your "sc...runchable plastics" and when full, deliver to one of these bins in both Woollies (near carpark entrance for CBD Woollies and to far right of checkouts as you approach entrance at North Orange Woollies. In Coles then bin is inside the store, to left of checkouts near bottle shop entry.) REDcycle collects the soft plastics and works with partner enterprises to make all sorts of useful products like aggregate for concrete, furniture, decking and signs. See more

09.01.2022 PLEASE LEAVE THEM IN THE SHOPS The vast majority of these rawhide products and treats come from China. Their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a... toxic sodium sulphide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white "pure" look and remove the rancid smell. Now comes the pretty festive colours and the glue to form cute shapes. They regularly cause intestinal blockages and choking. The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog. Please be safe with your dogs!

05.01.2022 ORANGE WOMEN'S REFUGE FINISHED Orange's first women's refuge has finally opened in the city. The facility has six fully furnished self-contained units and is ...situated around a central 'core' with office space and communal areas. It's hoped the refuge will help address the high rate of domestic violence in Orange, estimated by HousingPlus to be at twice the state average. The homes will provide privacy, independence and access to specialist homelessness and domestic violence services. There's also a 'boutique' where women will be given beauty treatments by local volunteers. It's hoped the service will help women feel 'special' and help them be ready for appointments. It’ll formally open its doors from December. Take a look inside the new facility
