Held every month on the first Friday of the month at Where: Seventh Day Adventist hall in Scott Rd. When: Friday March 6 at 10am -2pm. What: bring a UFO(unfinished object) or your current project. We are making these natty little popcorn bags or BYO project and enjoy a chat and cups with like minded ladies. When : Friday March 12, 10-2pm Where: Seventh Day Adventist hall, Scott Rd, Capel. Days for Girls International works to get washable feminine hygiene kits into the hands of those that would otherwise go without. We advocate and partner with NGOs and agencies to teach women and communities to create their own. We... work to raise public awareness, educate regarding AIDS and preventable disease, and health and safety-- all programs that are saving lives, helping girls stay in school and balancing the scales for women. General Information Thousands of volunteers worldwide sew, gather supplies, create connections and raise funds that all add up to more dignity, more education, more health and more opportunities. 12.01.2022 Some words from 150 years ago. Could have been written today! From Denise Kathleen OMearas poem, And People Stayed Home, written in 1869. And people stayed home and read books and listened... and rested and exercised and made art and played and learned new ways of being and stopped and listened deeper someone meditated someone prayed someone danced someone met their shadow and people began to think differently and people healed and in the absence of people who lived in ignorant ways, dangerous, meaningless and heartless, even the earth began to heal and when the danger ended and people found each other grieved for the dead people and they made new choices and dreamed of new visions and created new ways of life and healed the earth completely just as they were healed themselves.
