25.01.2022 Yup, that'd be me...

25.01.2022 David & Dianne Cane in Franklin are a local institution: their roadside stall is THE place to get Tasmanian plums, peaches and nectarines, and they'll always ma...ke sure they have enough for these loyal local customers before offering anything to wholesale customers. However, as the road to Franklin (and thus their roadside stall) has been closed due to the fires, sales have been slow, and picking under threat of bushfire has not always been possible. We were very happy to help them move their backlog this week, with these nectarines and plums heading out in this week's fruit supplement! Thankfully the weather is taking the edge off the fire-fight now - keep an eye on the road closure info to see if you can head down on the weekend and get your own fruity haul! #nectarines #plums #tasmanianfires See more

22.01.2022 The solstice is tomorrow & Santa is on the way, my view is looking pretty

22.01.2022 I've been a bit quiet for the past few weeks. With fires over the river & the Huon Valley shrouded in toxic smoke, my chocolate making has stalled, but I'm catching up & will be back by the weekend. Due to the fires and road closures, many of our local fruit and veg growers are stuggling to get their produce out there. You can now buy Coad's stonefruits (from Franklin), at the Cygnet Garden Larder.... Farrah's IGA is collecting donations for our fabulous Fire Fighters.

10.01.2022 A quick note to say that this is very likely the last Christmas I will be making chocolates. After 10 years, the time has come to move on to other things. We started with the intention of making a uniquely Tasmanian product using the finest ingredients available from in and around the Huon, which we did. It has been a roller coaster ride with markets, festivals, awards, weddings and anniversaries. A special Thank You goes to Dagny, Monica, Alex, Natalie & Nicole who worked wi...th me over the years. And, of course, a very special Thank You to Nikki, who worked with me for many fun-filled years. My mum used to say, "It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye!", and Nikki, it always was always fun and games working with you, except for that one day when I did shoot you in the eye with a Nerf Gun... sorry, again.... Thank you so much, everyone, for supporting us over the years and thank you to Bec and the staff at the Cygnet Garden Larder for selling the last of the Cygneture range. The Cygnet Garden Larder is open 7 days, from 8 am to 5 pm, daily. (What you see on the shelves is what you get, I cannot take orders this year as I cannot guarantee supply). From my family and me, thank you, thank you, thank you. Cheers, Gillian
