25.01.2022 About to deliver the wedding cake!! I can't show you the cake yet but I can show you my celebratory donut, sausage roll and manicure. Enjoy.

25.01.2022 It is always a pleasure when someone lovely asks me to make a cake for their nearest and dearest. I wanted to make something that was different to all the movie themed cakes already out there but also make the birthday boy happy! I love the idea of the retro popcorn and the mini movie reels were too cute to miss. The middle tier had 13 of his favourite movies on it. And I have to say many of them are my favs too!! David was going as Han Solo to his party so a little Luke Skywalker didn't go astray. Cakes are Red Velvet with White choc ganache; Caramel Mud with Dark choc ganache; Gluten free ginger cake with Caramel ganache. yummmmmmm. Happy Birthday David!!!

24.01.2022 I had the joy of making this delightful little baby shower cake for my partners sister. The theme was grey and pink. Stupidly i wanted to do cute little ruffles. Ruffles will be the death of me! Anyway, this cake was some time ago the beautiful little Indie is already born. Congratulations Adam and Cassie Habenschuss. I'm looking forward to being faux-Aunty to your beautiful little girl.

20.01.2022 Oh. My. Gosh. These are adorable.

20.01.2022 My first fresh flower cake... Pretty excited to deliver this bad girl...

20.01.2022 My beautiful cousin Kelly was lucky enough to find the love of her life in Clinton and marry him in beautiful Bali. I was so very happy to make this little cake for a casual surprise family dinner celebration. The cake was somewhat experimental, Vanilla cake (ok not so experimental) with a musk Swiss meringue buttercream. I had not coloured a layer of cake before!! I think it looks good though. I decorated the cake with a watercolour style technique and contrasting love hearts. All terribly girly but so very beautiful. For your viewing pleasure i have included a rare photo of myself with the cake. Congratulations Kelly-ann James and Clinton Philip Smith on finding each other. Keep the joy, the happiness and the love. xxx

19.01.2022 That moment when you realize your expensive kitchen aid can colour your fondant for you... When you have almost finished.... Oh well - it's bedtime!!

18.01.2022 One very lucky boy got this mad cake for his 5th birthday! The cake was insipred by so many other simiklar cakes. The slime technique came from Sweet Cakes by Rebecca. I have to admit i have revealed my age somewhat with this cake. I thought I would add in a surprise Krang (yeah) only to have the birthday boy ask "what's that?". At least the first gen's will appreciate it.

17.01.2022 I am becoming one with the cake...

11.01.2022 Ziggy's best mate Trooper asked if I would make a cake for his mum... her name is Kirthana and both Ziggy and Trooper think she is pretty special, as does her husband James. So I was happy to oblige. The theme was black and red and I just love the black quilting and the black piping. The inside was marble mud cake YUMM-O!! Happy 30th birthday James N Kirthana Samuel. Sorry it too so long to share the photos (i couldn't find the camera cable...) I hope you had a lovely birthday and I hope James and Trooper spoilt you rotten xx

08.01.2022 It's like Jen at Cake Wrecks knew I was making a wedding cake and wanted to comfort me by showing me how even professionals can fail .... Badly check out today's post of disappointed brides and grooms. http://www.cakewrecks.com/

07.01.2022 You may or may not have realized but I'm making a wedding cake for tomorrow Here is the sketch for the toppers and I have just finished making the real thing. I hope the bride and groom will be happy to see these little characters tomorrow evening.

06.01.2022 I had the honour of making a wedding cake for my partner's cousin Sarah and her new husband Kevin. In what was possibly the cutest wedding vows I have ever witnessed guests learnt that Sarah and Kevin first met whilst playing the online game MapleStory. Kevin made the long journey from South Australia to Melbourne to meet in person for the first time at Sarah's birthday. Shortly after Kevin moved to Melbourne and they have been, hands down, the cutest couple ever since. The ...wedding was scheduled for last year when Kevin suffered a shocking medical condition. The two battled through until Kevin returned to good health and on Friday last week - they got married. Boom. And I made their cake - win! The cake features modelling chocolate figures of their MapleStory game characters, the top tier is Red Velvet with white choc ganache (for the couple to keep - same as the engagement cake I made them), middle tier is caramel mud with white chocolate ganache and the bottom tier is vanilla cake with caramel ganache. Congratulations Sarah and Kevin on a beautiful and touching wedding and I wish you a long and happy life together. xx

01.01.2022 Ok - so I don't know how many of you caught this story but Thor made a cake for his daughters birthday. What was first praise is now bashing (thanks internet). Where do I stand on the this story? Thanks, I'm glad you asked... I think it's amazing. It's bloody hard work making a cake whether you are male or female. But you know what the best thing about making a cake is... The joy on the recipients face. That is why you do it. I'm sure his little girl was thrilled to get that dinosaur cake. Hell I wish someone would make me a bloody dinosaur cake like that! Xx

01.01.2022 My dear second cousin Amy Leigh celebrated her 21st birthday late last year. The last of the Brock girls to reach this milestone. To tell you the truth I honestly felt like they have all been 25 for at least 10 years. This cake was Amy Brock's own design. It was my first attempt at gold sequins. It was very messy but very fun and the texture is amazing. The flowers are fresh and were supplied by the amazing Posies and Twine. Katie was so patient with me in selecting the right... colour combination to go with the cake and I think she really nailed it! Hopefully my arrangements did some justice to the flowers. I truly love making pretty cakes. Happy Birthday Amy!! xxx
