23.01.2022 TECTUM. PORTABLE SPACE DIVIDER. For use in commercial or residential environments, the tectum consists of a series of fine, vertically orientated, natural fibreglass rods supported by an extruded aluminium base. Each rod is highly flexible and is designed to follow the movement of any breeze or respond to interaction by the user. Each screen can be installed in singular or multiple formations as a means of texturally dividing the space without blocking light or completely partitioning the space. We not only won the competition but were also required to manufacture the trophy. 15.01.2022 MELBOURNE CUP. COLLAPSIBLE CHUCK. When WJ Sanders won the contract to supply the Melbourne Cup they asked us to design and make the collapsible chucks that are used in the spinning of the top bowl section of the trophies. The mouth of the trophy is narrower than the widest part of the bowl and so the chuck needs to collapse to allow the part to be taken off the chuck. It's an honour to have played a small part in the making of the trophies. The three-handled 'loving cup' was designed by James Steeth and first awarded in 1919. 100 years later it's still looking great. #melbournecup #d3design #industrialdesign #designthatlasts #designicon #designclassic

11.01.2022 NAUTSPILL. GLASSWARE FOR SAILING. Nautspill identified a market need for a product to keep wine from spilling on sailing boats. Having unsuccessfully approached a number of other design firms we were able to solve the complex-problem elegantly. Utilising a baffle meant that it was like drinking from a regular wine glass, but without any spillage. #d3design #industrialdesign #gooddesign #productdesign

01.01.2022 100 YEARS OF WOMEN IN THE FORCE. The brief called for a baton which would commemorate women in the Police Force and be carried in a relay around NSW. It had to perform as a baton and also reflect the image and heritage of the NSW Police Force.
