A 24 hrs sous vide lamb shoulder in a rich gravy of Chaar Magaz ( 4 types of melon seeds) with browned onions and saffron. 'Bunny' comes for the word 'Bania' which is a class of merchants present mainly in Gujarat, India who arrived in South Africa under the indenture migrants era of the British Raj in India. 'Chow' in South African English is simply slang for "food" as well as the verb "to eat". One story claims that a South African restaurant run by Banias first created the dish at a restaurant-café, called Kapitan's, on the corner of Victoria and Albert streets in Durban. We start the festive month celebrating Christmas in the traditions of the first Christian community in India, the Saint Thomas Christians also known as the Syrian Christians of Kerala . It is believed that they built the first Christian Church in India, the Mar Thoma Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, Kodungaloor, Kerala built 52 A.D.(now restored).... We then take you to celebrate the heritage of Goan Christians. Christianity came to Goa with conquest and occupation by the Portuguese Empire, led by admiral Afonso de Albuquerque in 1510. The Portuguese influence still run strong in the rich culinary heritage of Goa that you will love! And, then we take you on a journey to experience the Bengali Christian Heritage.
