25.01.2022 Blessed with yet another picture perfect day in paradise. Great having two boats on the water for sweep's training. Welcome also to new paddlers Rosa and Maggie G who joined us for the first time.

25.01.2022 What better way to spend your Saturday than at a Bunnings BBQ. To our hardworking team who worked tirelessly to provide for all the hungry customers. To those that prepared, cooked, and did anything that was asked of them, that is what makes our club what it is. Thank you

25.01.2022 WE'RE BACK! Today DAGC returned to their spectacular home waters of Currumbin Creek. With social distancing and heightened cleaning practices in place, our Executive, Coaches and Boat Captains are focused on delivering a challenging, fun, supportive and safe paddling experience for all.... Looking forward to seeing all our paddlers back on the water soon.

24.01.2022 Great video from our 2k yesterday. Thanks Garry!

23.01.2022 And a very warm welcome to our 4 paddlers joining us today for training. Lucy, Carmel, Katie and Dani all did a stellar job learning our sport as well as being involved in sweep training. Well done girls. And no Lucy didn't fall in. She just went for a swim.

22.01.2022 COME AND TRY DRAGONBOATING

18.01.2022 To our band of sweeps who week after week look out for our safety on the water. Over the last few weeks we have been doing sweep training and we as paddlers have developed an enormous appreciation for these guys who keep us safe on the water. Not only is it training for our sweeps but for us as paddlers to learn to support them in making us a better team on the water. Awesome - you guys rock.

18.01.2022 What a wonderful morning as we joined with local teams for training and race practice on our beautiful creek. How re-assuring it was to be back on the water with some of our friends from the broader dragon boat community, albeit in a COVID save way. Our 'newbies' were a credit to themselves and DAGC, especially their efforts in the 2k. Well done all. Thanks to Kelly's hubby for the photos and video!

17.01.2022 A few more photos from our boat blessing ceremony along with some quotes by the monks which we think are quite profound considering the year we have had. . May all beings find security in friendship, peace and loving care . May calm and mindful practice give rise to deep patience and equanimity... . May we have spacious hearts and humble thoughts of gratitude . May palms in every world be joined in kindness, compassion, joy and generosity

15.01.2022 Our amazingly talented and dedicated 2019-20 Executive. All re-elected for 2021-21! R to L - Lorrie Ledwell (Boat Operations), Tricia O'Neill (Executive Member), Lori Heaton (President), Di King (Secretary), Jocelyn Misson (Vice-President). Marie Hansen (Treasurer) and Heather Gillard (Executive Member). Thank you each and all for everything that you do for DAGC.

15.01.2022 Dragons Abreast Gold Coast is SWELLing with pride! Check out this wonderful SWELL Insight starring our own, glamorous Sue Elllen. One more thing, don't forget to visit our installation at SWELL. We'd love to meet you.

13.01.2022 Another pink ribbon charity fundraiser for Pink October with a sunset cruise down the Tweed River. The weather was kind and we were rewarded with some beautiful scenery as we made our way up and down the Tweed. Lorrie Ledwell was guest speaker at the event to raise awareness and prevention of breast cancer. Let’s hope the message is getting out there

10.01.2022 Another perfect morning for the pinkies on beautiful Currumbin Creek. It doesn’t get any better than this

10.01.2022 New paddlers were officially welcomed into the DAGC family at a BBQ this morning. How thrilling it is to have three boats of keen paddlers out for our Sunday sessions.

09.01.2022 Very happy little Vegemite’s. Sunday - fun day, lots of turns, cool control, smiles all round.

07.01.2022 Another amazing, awesome, fantastic trivia night at Currumbin RSL. Huge thanks to Josie and her team who did a brilliant job in making this a special event.

06.01.2022 Today we recognised and celebrated our achievements at DAGC's AGM. It was wonderful to be with each other, albeit within our new, socially distant, normal (yes, photos can be misleading). The AGM provided the opportunity to show our gratitude to the Executive, who have worked tirelessly during 2019-20 and have been re-elected for 2020-21. Thank you! Congratulations also to Wendy Sutton who was awarded Life Membership of Dragons Abreast Gold Coast. Over fifteen years at DAGC, Wendy has served in numerous positions of responsibility. Members old and new alike continue to appreciate Wendy's friendship, smile and good humour.

06.01.2022 What a spectacular Sunday morning as we celebrated being back in a full boat together.Thank you Heather Gillard for taking these beautiful photos.

06.01.2022 Two of our members did our club proud tonight when they were invited to speak at the Swell Sculpture Artist Panel event held at Dust Temple Currumbin Waters as part of the Swell Festival. It has been a great opportunity for our club to raise awareness of breast cancer.

06.01.2022 Another cracker of a morning for DAGC with three boats out on a sparkling Currumbin Creek. We welcome our new paddlers, who continue to thrive. Thank you to our regular paddlers for making everyone feel at home with DAGC. While our boat captains, sweeps and coaches are busy ensuring safe and rewarding sessions, the executive continues to plan yet another huge event - Friday's trivia night. All this on the back of SWELL, boat blessings and our come and try!!!!... Well done to all! ___ Also check out this post from our Head Coach... https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2119671148169319&id=100003793632305

06.01.2022 Hi there Fencliners, please make a comment if you know anything about this amazing group. While experiencing iso I have been using my little blue craft, lots of Murray adventures have floated back. Lozza

05.01.2022 AUSTRALIAN FRILLED DRAGON Kingii has been chosen to display a unique touch to our DAGC racing shirts and was used in our 2018 Florence campaign at the World IPCPC championships An iconic and unique lizard found only in Australia and southern New Guinea, its defense mechanism is to stand on its hind legs and display a frilled collar which makes it look much bigger to predators. It is feisty and fast and runs up trees to hide. ... Scientific name: Clamydosaurus kingii. This species is the only member of the genus Clamydosaurus. Kingii makes a very cute mascot.

05.01.2022 How special is this. Well done Sue Ellen and team - paying it forward

03.01.2022 What an amazing day to top off a huge few weeks for DAGC! First our members entered 'The Good Ship Awareness' in SWELL 2020. Yesterday our new boat 'Courage' (alongside 'Awareness') was blessed in a traditional ceremony on the banks of our blessed Currumbin Creek. The public blessing was followed by a hugely successful come and try session conducted in perfect, glistening conditions. Well done to all members on their mammoth contribution! ... Below are some photos (from various contributors), feel free to add...

02.01.2022 DAGC's paddlers thrive under COVID Safe return. Only a few short weeks ago, Dragons Abreast Gold Coast received endorsement of their COVID Safe Plan by Dragon Boat Queensland, clearing the way for their return to the spectacular waters of Currumbin. Paddlers, keen to get back into the boat, enthusiastically embraced their club's new way of doing things. ... In a further vote of confidence in the club's COVID Safe planning capabilities, DAGC has also welcomed a spike in new paddlers keen to appreciate the benefits of being on the water and active in a team. Great to be back. Welcome to paddlers old and new.

01.01.2022 Come and try. Great location, great exercise and a fantastic group of friends
