Here are some interesting customer service expectation stats from @hootsuite which blow our mind... 83% of people expect companies to respond to a social media question or complaint within a day.... Nearly half of people expect a response within an hour. But 45% of brands take more than five days to respond to messages through their Facebook Pages! And 49% never get a response to a social media complaint at all... With half of people globally saying that direct messaging a company makes them feel more connected to the brand, it's SO important that you have the right strategies and systems in place to support your customers... 1. Create social media guidelines Your brand guidelines for social customer support should cover things such as: Tone of voice Response time for each channel Answers to frequently asked questions Protocol for escalations or other customer issues A message approval procedure and a permission management system. 2. Be proactive If customers regularly reach out with the same questions, that’s a clue you need to provide some self-service information resources. Help customers learn how to get the most from your products so they don't have to go that extra step to ask you 3. Always respond People asking questions of your brand on social media may or may not be your customers. Answering all questions on social channels shows that you have responsive customer service, and this proves to potential customers that you care about your clients’ needs. 4. Respond quickly Your social customer service may not be available 24/7, and that’s okay. Make your customer service availability hours clear. Let customers know when you’re going to be offline. Is it to share inspiration through USG; To push sales; To celebrate/acknowledge a particular event/special day; or Build a community? 2. Place the most important words at the beginning of the caption You want to hook the reader in, and give them a reason to want more. Captions are cut off in users’ feeds after a few lines of text, so you need to convey the key point/call to action right away. 3. Consider the brand tone of voice What are the qualities and values you want the brand to embody? Is your content lighthearted, relatable, attainable, fun loving, or community based? 4. Caption length Most people scroll through their Instagram feeds at a brisk pace. So, consider whether you need to keep your caption brief, or give context. And if you can, let the image speak for itself Caption development is SO important, so try not to leave it to the last minute before posting... These questions directly reflect the current needs and challenges your target market has. Create a document to keep track of questions your prospective or existing clients ask you. Make a note of the most commonly asked questions this content will be in highest demand. Visit online forums (Quora & Reddit) for social media content ideas Look for common or urgent topics posted by those in your target market. Search #hashtags for content ideas Search on social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter for your topic by simply adding a # (hashtag) before your keyword(s). Make your old content new again Old topics are still important to your target market. They just need to be updated to be fresh and relevant again. Look at Instagram Insights - Post Insights - Rank posts in terms of Saves, Shares, Comments for the last year. These analytics will tell you what content has previously been well received, then think about how you can repurpose this. 03.01.2022 You want new followers, engagement, sales and to build a community with your social channels? Then you have to WORK FOR IT! Social media isn't magic, it takes loads of planning & hard work. You don’t flick a switch and turn it on and off... ... It requires good old fashioned ground and pound, elbow grease, put your back into it hard work. Posting updates is only one step, and before that step there are a whole bunch of things you need to work on... establishing your social media goals setting short and long term objectives or milestones planning your strategy, tactics and approach defining your audience developing your online voice determining which types of content your audience will be interested in, respond to and share creating the content (video production, graphics, photos, infographics, memes) deciding if there will be a paid promotional component writing and scheduling the updates and corresponding content THEN, you can post updates And once you get to posting, this certainly doesn't mean you can take a back seat and relax... Effective social media strategies require constant nurturing, time and energy.
