25.01.2022 Let's talk about CREATIVITY It can be SO easy to get caught up in the day to day hustle & bustle of work, and not take time out to fill that creativity tank. One of the BIGGEST things we have learnt about getting back into that creative mindset after being so GO GO GO with the business, is to do something completely OUT of your creative medium ... This often involves trying something new, so you can explore OTHER parts of our right brain, and learn some new skills at the same time! What are some ways in which you're filling your creativity tank?

23.01.2022 Ever had a customer message you at 10pm at night? Yep... we thought so! Here are some interesting customer service expectation stats from @hootsuite which blow our mind... 83% of people expect companies to respond to a social media question or complaint within a day.... Nearly half of people expect a response within an hour. But 45% of brands take more than five days to respond to messages through their Facebook Pages! And 49% never get a response to a social media complaint at all... With half of people globally saying that direct messaging a company makes them feel more connected to the brand, it's SO important that you have the right strategies and systems in place to support your customers... 1. Create social media guidelines Your brand guidelines for social customer support should cover things such as: Tone of voice Response time for each channel Answers to frequently asked questions Protocol for escalations or other customer issues A message approval procedure and a permission management system. 2. Be proactive If customers regularly reach out with the same questions, that’s a clue you need to provide some self-service information resources. Help customers learn how to get the most from your products so they don't have to go that extra step to ask you 3. Always respond People asking questions of your brand on social media may or may not be your customers. Answering all questions on social channels shows that you have responsive customer service, and this proves to potential customers that you care about your clients’ needs. 4. Respond quickly Your social customer service may not be available 24/7, and that’s okay. Make your customer service availability hours clear. Let customers know when you’re going to be offline. Set up automatic responses (to common questions) on Facebook & Instagram. With 57% of consumers saying customer service increases brand loyalty, offering exceptional online customer service really is key See more

23.01.2022 So much more goes into being a Social Media Manager than just "scrolling through Instagram"... Social media management is HARD WORK! It involves:... strategy development; content calendars, copywriting, scheduling posts & reporting: community engagement (responding to comments, DM's & bringing new customers); content creation; client emails & meetings to update strategies and plan ahead; analysing algorithms & platform updates; and much, much more! And whilst we are lucky in the fact that we can do our job from relatively anywhere (so long as we have WiFi); it’s so much more than just scrolling & posting pretty pictures

20.01.2022 Are you adding VALUE to the feeds of your followers or are you just adding to the noise? Social media is an experience, not a place to mindlessly push out content. It's better for you to be posting meaningful, valuable content 4 times a week, rather than uninspiring and mediocre content 7 times a week...

19.01.2022 CONNECTING WITH YOUR AUDIENCE If you want to generate more positive engagement on your social media channels, you must connect with your audience on an emotional level using valuable content that SOLVES their problems Here are some tips:... Speak to your target customer directly Develop and maintain a tone of voice for your brand & STICK TO IT. This voice is what you’ll use in your content and social media communications. These channels are personal for your readers. Don’t speak to the masses. Talk to them like you’re sitting across the dinner table from one another One-on-one communication is much more intimate and engaging than a mega-horn. Create unique, valuable insights for your followers People love exclusivity Give your audience something they can’t find anywhere else and they’ll automatically gravitate towards you and spread the word. This is especially true if you’re giving these insights away for free. Use humour, compassion, and empathy. Never underestimate the power of emotions. If someone can make you smile or shed a tear, you know there’s a pretty strong emotional bond there. These emotions are great to tap into because as humans, we love to relate Need a little help with communicating with your target audience? Get in touch and let's chat! See more

16.01.2022 What are you doing to make your brand stand out on social media? It can be so easy to just post the same old same old on your accounts, because it's easy. But is it making your brand stand out and be seen by the right audiences? Probably not ... Here are 4 ways in which you can make your brand stand out on social media... THEME YOUR ACCOUNTS There is nothing worse than seeing a brand on social that doesn't have a consistent theme. Theming essentially means sticking to a distinct color palette or approach, using the same filters and the like to create a distinct look and feel. Themes can also set the mood of the brand for your followers too! USE STRONG VISUALS Your pictures really do tell a story. Keep images and video as clear and high quality as you possibly can. Being able to carry your branding and reflect the feel of your brand through imagery can be key to attracting and retaining followers. We say this all the time, but invest in quality images for your brand. If you haven't already done so - book a photographer NOW and get it done TELL A STORY/ WRITE COMPELLING CAPTIONS The way you tell your brand story is to add more context to your visuals with captions. Try to make your captions compelling, while adding value to your audience. Remember that the point is to connect with your audience so try creating conversations instead of just speaking AT them. CREATE RECURRING POSTS/EVENTS This is the key to growing an online presence & maintaining an engaged presence - create something that keeps fans coming back, week after week. This could be through hosting a weekly Q&A Instagram live, sharing a weekly tip via IGTV, or creating a best of the week Instagram slideshow. See more

14.01.2022 5 Common Mistakes We See Brands Making On Instagram With changes in algorithms and new features dropping regularly on Instagram, it's easy to make mistakes with when it comes to posting and using the platform. Here are some things you want to avoid doing...... Using Poor Quality Images We see this happening way too often... when businesses upload images that are not only off-brand, but are quite off putting for followers. Even if you don’t have access to professional photo skills or a top-notch camera, try shooting with natural light or on neutral backgrounds You’re really better off posting no photo than a bad photo... Posting Boring Content If you want users to engage with your brand, give them something to engage with. Create posts that they’ll care about-something intriguing, or informative, or fun. The ultimate goal when it comes to posting, is to give your followers something of VALUE Having No Strategic Plan No plan + no direction = no success... Do you want to direct traffic to your website? Are you hoping to grow your followers? It’s hard to achieve success if you don’t know what you’re trying to achieve. Pick one goal to start, and create a strategic plan to get there Inconsistent Branding It's really important to have consistent branding across all of your social media platforms - including in your Instagram posts. Every element should share a similar visual style and editorial tone to our overall branding Sharing Links in Captions This is something we see a lot... Instagram doesn’t hyperlink URLs in comments, so posting a long, un-clickable link in your post caption just looks messy For brands that have below 10,000 followers (and therefore cannot have links in their Instagram stories), opt for the "link in bio" way of connecting followers with links you're sharing. Sites like Campsite or Linktree are two great options for allowing you to have multiple links that people can go to from your bio The good thing about a digital platform is that it’s never too late to make changes! And, we're here to help you

12.01.2022 IT’S TIME FOR A SPRING CLEAN You know how you’ll often do a spring clean of your home? Well, have you thought about doing the same for your digital marketing? Here are some steps to spring cleaning your digital marketing strategy:... 1. Focus on your key metrics A company’s goals are changing all of the time, so chances are your goals have changed since the last time you cleaned out your digital strategy. Collect all of your goals and key metrics in one place, so you get a sense of the overall accomplishments you’re looking for in the next year 2. Reflect on what tools you’re using Create a list of the strategies and platforms you’re using to spread your digital marketing message, including: Email marketing Content marketing SEO Website/ blogs Social media platforms And assess if these are still working for your business 3. Check each tool and its success against your goals Evaluate whether you’re hitting the mark, or where work needs to be done 4. Check for change Change in online trends, change in customers, change in the market. Maybe your audience has moved to using a different platform, or you’re wanting to produce more video content 5. Check your competition Start with your top 3-5 competitors and take a look at what they have been up to. Don’t make the mistake of simply moving your digital marketing strategy to match your competitors. If you only do what they are already doing well, you’ll always be behind. Instead, look for blind spots they might have. 6. Create a calendar for all your platforms Any client that works with us knows that we LOVE a good calendar Use this as an overview and plan of what content you’ll be posting and creating for each of your platforms. 11.01.2022 Do you often get stuck with what to write when developing your social media captions? Here are some things to consider... 1. What is your goal/objective with this post?... Is it to share inspiration through USG; To push sales; To celebrate/acknowledge a particular event/special day; or Build a community? 2. Place the most important words at the beginning of the caption You want to hook the reader in, and give them a reason to want more. Captions are cut off in users’ feeds after a few lines of text, so you need to convey the key point/call to action right away. 3. Consider the brand tone of voice What are the qualities and values you want the brand to embody? Is your content lighthearted, relatable, attainable, fun loving, or community based? 4. Caption length Most people scroll through their Instagram feeds at a brisk pace. So, consider whether you need to keep your caption brief, or give context. And if you can, let the image speak for itself Caption development is SO important, so try not to leave it to the last minute before posting... It’s important to ensure that what you're posting is strategic and aligned with your goals

Social media isn't magic, it takes loads of planning & hard work. You don’t flick a switch and turn it on and off... ... It requires good old fashioned ground and pound, elbow grease, put your back into it hard work. Posting updates is only one step, and before that step there are a whole bunch of things you need to work on... establishing your social media goals setting short and long term objectives or milestones planning your strategy, tactics and approach defining your audience developing your online voice determining which types of content your audience will be interested in, respond to and share creating the content (video production, graphics, photos, infographics, memes) deciding if there will be a paid promotional component writing and scheduling the updates and corresponding content THEN, you can post updates And once you get to posting, this certainly doesn't mean you can take a back seat and relax... Effective social media strategies require constant nurturing, time and energy. Successful social media requires a significant investment of time and you can go one of three ways: Do it yourself; Build an internal team to handle it led by a social media manager; or Hire a social media manager (aka us) to handle it for you!
