24.01.2022 Labor has abandoned the coal industry. Obviously they didn't get the message after the federal election so, if you support our coal industry, send them a reminder this Saturday!

22.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all. There are many ways in which people celebrate at this time of year but one of the most important is to check up on our friends and family, ensuring all feel cared for in the spirit of humanity, for that is the true spirit of Christmas. It has already been a trying year so please take care on the roads if travelling during the festive season. ... From my family to you and yours, have a very special Christmas.

22.01.2022 It’s time to fix the goat track! Too many lives have been lost and too many people have been injured on the Peak Downs Highway. More than 6 people per year are hospitalised due to incidents on that road and, sadly, we see an average of almost one fatality per year and I've had enough! The Peak Downs Highway between Moranbah and Clermont featured in election commitments from both major parties and I am calling on the Government to honour its commitment sooner rather than la...ter. The election is in the past. Labor won and I want shovels in the ground as soon as possible. The areas serviced by the Peak Downs Highway provide billions in royalties to the government each year. If you agree that some of those royalties should be used NOW to upgrade the Peak Downs Highway, please sign my petition by clicking below. https://queensland.typeform.com/to/KtuzlD3c

19.01.2022 With almost 85% of the vote now officially counted, it is clear that the people of the Burdekin electorate have again put their faith in me to represent them in the 57th Queensland Parliament. It is an honour and a privilege to represent such a diverse electorate and my commitment is that I will continue the fight to ensure we have the infrastructure and services we deserve. My intention was to allow my competitors to acknowledge the will of the people however they have cho...sen not to do so and, as a consequence, I am now claiming victory in the seat of Burdekin. I especially want to thank my family and my team of supporters for their faith, hard work and sleepless nights both during the campaign and over the last five years. The result is proof that the people of the Burdekin electorate want a representative who is prepared to put in the hard work to cover a huge area and someone who, regardless of who anyone votes for, is prepared to help them and work for them. At the next LNP Party Room meeting, I will be nominating for the position of Deputy Leader of the Queensland LNP. This is not a decision I have taken lightly but, for the benefit of the whole state, Queensland needs a senior voice from the regions. Given that, before the election, the Labor government had a three person leadership team, I think it is only appropriate that the LNP ensures that a regional representative not only has a strong voice in Shadow Cabinet but a senior leadership role.

18.01.2022 The photo says it all. Please support local businesses!

18.01.2022 Great to see our local QFES employees and volunteers, Rosa, Ash, Ben and Alwyn being recognised for their outstanding work and contribution to our community at the QFES Australia Day Achievement Awards ceremony in T'ville today. Well done and congratulations to all award recipients.

17.01.2022 A busy week in parliament fighting for the issues that are important to our community.

17.01.2022 Remembering to Remember...

16.01.2022 This election is about ensuring the survival and growth of our industries, as well as providing our fair share of the pie when it comes to infrastructure and community support.

14.01.2022 My monthly newsletter was recently published and contains updates on important issues like health services and also recognises local people doing amazing things. There is also information on how you can help children affected by cancer. You can check it out for yourself here: https://mailchi.mp/ce4b4ffe/dale-last-mp-newsletter-4900794 If you would like to receive my newsletter direct to your inbox, you can sign up here: https://dalelast.us13.list-manage.com/subscribe

14.01.2022 Great to catch up with Greg and Lisa Elliott at the Australian Crayfish Hatchery in T'ville today. Fantastic operation with so much potential. All we need now is some investors to jump on board to kickstart commercial operation.

14.01.2022 We have all been touched by cancer in some way and, when a child is affected, it’s even harder. That’s why I am proud to support Cure Cancer's Buddy Box initiative. It’s specifically aimed at providing support and a few smiles to children fighting cancer. On behalf of the electorate, I have purchased a Buddy Box to support a child and, if you would like to support this great cause, please head to www.curecancer.com.au/buddy-box

13.01.2022 It’s the first day of Parliament for 2021. We're using our platform to demand changes to Queensland’s youth justice system. Breach of bail must be restored as ...a criminal offence. It's simple. This measure would stop repeat offenders from committing more crimes in our communities. Queenslanders are demanding action and we'll continue to push our case for change. 07.01.2022 Once again I am overwhelmed at the generosity of our community. Thank you for helping local people in need.

06.01.2022 As I said when I chose to nominate for Deputy Leader, regional Queensland and North Queensland in particular needs a strong voice in the Shadow Cabinet. Despite not being elected as Deputy Leader, I will continue to be a strong voice, just as I have for the last 5 years. What is important now is for each and every LNP MP to start working for their electorate and for Queenslanders in every part of the state.... We need to connect with people, listen to their concerns and aspirations and make sure that, every single day, we are fighting to make their lives better. I want to congratulate David Crisafulli and David Janetzki on their election to their positions and I know that they are as focussed on doing their best for all Queenslanders as I am. I look forward to being a part of a team that will hold the government to account and prove to Queenslanders that we hear them, we support them and that, by working with them, we can make Queensland better today, tomorrow and into the future.

05.01.2022 Great to catch up with Brigadier Kahlil Fegan at Lavarack Barracks yesterday to discuss Defence procurement and job opportunities in the North.

04.01.2022 I'm in Brisbane for the first sitting of parliament for 2021. The people I talk to have made it clear. They want action on Youth Justice NOW!

03.01.2022 Yesterday in parliament I spoke about the ongoing crime epidemic. I hope the government got the message this time!

02.01.2022 I cannot believe that Valkyrie State School in Central Qld has no water supply. That's right, they have to truck their water into the school each week. I'm on a mission to sort this out. Here I come Minister Grace and Minister Stewart!!

01.01.2022 Plenty of action and top quality cattle at the Clermont Beef Expo and Trade Display today. The season off the back of recent rain in the area is certainly looking positive for our beef producers.
