18.01.2022 WELCOME BACK! We are so proud of each and every Active Live family member who has stayed committed to training throughout lockdown, many achieving truly special things. Like Helen, who led her local trio of AL sisters Kate and Tania, to meet up outdoors in Coogee every morning for our daily workout (even adding cheeky workout finisher sets...we've created a monster ) Like Gael, who even whilst caring for her 2yo granddaughter as her daughter gave birth during iso, managed... to keep up training with her husband John. Even after 15 years of training with us, we are still so impressed by you both and grateful for your unwavering loyalty. Would you believe they travel from Inner West to Bondi Junction to train with us? Like Kev, who encouraged his whole family to try his beloved Damien Kelly workouts whilst in lockdown together, and then personally lost 4.5kgs in the process #RESPECT Like Nicole, who committed to her daily training amongst a busy corporate role - rain, hail or shine, always with enthusiasm and a big smile on her face Some of our members even took a break, and that's OK too! And now, we come back to our fun studio to start again, doing what we love and appreciating our workouts more than ever. It's hard to describe the Active Live spirit. So, we're launching a fun, new, family friendly challenge; A one mile run, in Centennial Park, for you to pit yourself against the clock to do your best time. It will be a flat, picturesque and off-road course. All levels welcome and encouraged.... We will host these mile runs regularly, so that you can compare your times and work towards improving your running and fitness. We look forward to helping you run your best time possible! 07.01.2022 So grateful for this recent Google review " ACTIVE LIVE is fantastic - the workouts, the trainers and the community are consistently A+! It is evident that not only does Damien know his stuff but he has built a business model based on clients success rather than just aiming for numbers through the door. Whilst I have have been to other gyms where there are some good trainers, the consistency of high quality trainers is testament to the high expectations Damien place...s on his employees. Having recently tried doing sessions at home during self-isolation, it has become glaringly obvious to me how much the trainers and the community at Active Live lift my intensity at each and every session. The other stand out for me is how each session caters for such a diverse group of people - from the injured to the elite and young to the less young - the sessions are written in a way that allows each person to push themselves to their own limits in a safe and encouraging environment. 06.01.2022 COVID SAFE Each and every member gets space and sanitised equipment, to take away any stress about coming to the gym. We want you to keep training hard and getting stronger, no matter what! Please take a minute to refresh yourself on our important studio etiquette: If you are feeling unwell, please do not come to the studio. Practise social distancing at all times. This includes before the workout whilst waiting outside, on the stairs, as you enter the workout area and... exit the studio. Have your temperature checked upon entry. Clean and sanitise all equipment thoroughly BEFORE and AFTER every use. Bring and use a full sized towel. Minimise use of communal areas such as kitchen, water fountain, bathrooms and showers. Stay in your designated workout square, whenever possible. No high fives, hand shaking and other breaks in distancing. Thank you for your help with this. If we can stay vigilant and look after each other, we can hopefully get through this without any further disruption to studio life. Happy, healthy training. DK

06.01.2022 SAVE THIS Need some healthy DINspiration? Try this fast, easy 1 Pan Prawn & Chorizo Paella Pan fry 2tb olive oil, 1 diced onion, 1 chopped garlic clove and 1 diced red capsicum, until softened. Add 1 thinly sliced chorizo sausage, and cook until browned on both sides. Mix in your spices - 2tb paprika + 1 tb turmeric (+ 1 tsp chilli flakes and pinch of sugar if desired). Time to mix in your 1.5 cups rinsed, uncooked basmati brown rice and coat well. Add 2 cups stock of choice and 1 can cherry tomatoes, simmer. Add 1 dozen frozen large prawns, 1 head of chopped broccoli and 1 cup frozen peas, simmer. (Can sub prawns/add chicken if you wish) Serve hot and enjoy! Are you going to try this recipe? 06.01.2022 DO YOU HAVE FUSSY EATERS? Here's something easy and healthy that your whole family will enjoy Mexican baked potatoes! Simply roast whole sweet potatoes for 30min or until soft. Meanwhile, make your fav bean/meat chili style filling. We used organic beef mince with canned black beans, onion, red capsicum, tomato paste and homemade mex spice mix. Serve with a side of greens (spinach, rocket), avo, sour cream and cheese. So satisfying! Will you try this at home?
