25.01.2022 This week we sent a yute FULL of clothing to the Harman Foundation to help women and families that are victims of domestic violence. Heaps of casual and work clothes, exercise equipment, shoes and packages of sanitary items donated from our amazing community. In every community, there is work to be done. In every nation, there are wounds to heal. ... In every heart, there is the power to do it. Marianne Williamson #SPEAKOUT #Harmanfoundation #togetherwecanDOit

25.01.2022 We asked some of our community members to help us share some positivity through art. TNT (Telopea Neighbourhood Team) a local emerging community group spent some time this Sunday expressing what is important to them through art on the DANC windows. Hope it brings some joy as you walk. We would love to hear what you think & if you would like to contribute to our community art!

24.01.2022 Have you noticed how our community has connected in a different way to bring a bit of joy and happiness during this time? There are bears and hearts at windows and affirmations and hopscotches made of chalk as you walk down the street. Some trees have eyes, a sloth carrying an iguana, little foam birds by the building numbers & even a glow in the dark Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. Have you noticed these little fun surprises pop up in YOUR area? If not, maybe you can ...add something that makes you smile outside your place. It might help us get lost in the moment while we are out for our daily walk and just enjoy the playfulness through simple things. *pictures shared by our awesome community members #community #sharesomegood #connection #whatcanyousee #connectthroughcovid #parramattaarea #walkingisgood #becreative #thinkoutsidethebox

23.01.2022 You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have. -Maya Angelou Today we ran our 1st Christmas in July School Holiday program with 13 participants. It was a busy day focusing on creative expression through arts & crafts, group activities, yoga and active games. The children got to paint wooden creations, wrap up a special book chosen from the community library as a gift, decorate the Christmas tree and also write cards to practice gratitude ... Amazing to see the primary school aged children mentored and helped by some of our local high school students! #christmasinjuly
21.01.2022 Are you or someone you love struggling to find or buy food? This is an updated list of food services in our area. Please SHARE! If you need further help, give us a call on 0423 809 715.
21.01.2022 What a beautiful day for local parents to get together for our first outdoor playgroup. It is so important to be able to connect and support each other through all these changes and challenges. This outdoor playgroup will continue to explore different parks in our local suburbs. Playing outdoors provides unique opportunities for learning that the indoor environment cannot offer. Children engage in higher levels of creativity, imagination, inventiveness, physical activity,... language, and curiosity. Most importantly, they are given the opportunity to play freely. Send us a msg if you would like to connect with other local parents & families. Bookings are essential due to the restrictions in place.
20.01.2022 Today is Early Childhood Educators Day! A day to recognise and thank all the Educators in our community who care, support and dedicate their time to helping children become more resilient. We also want to give a shout out to everyone that volunteered with our playgroup this year and took the time to teach the children about healthy living, yoga, dance and movement, nature, caring for animals and our bodies.... If you live in Telopea, Dundas, Dundas Valley, Ermington, Rydalmere or Melrose Park and are interested in attending our supported playgroup, get in touch with us :) #earlychildhoodeducation #rockstars #weareallinthistogether #parraparents

Neighbourhood Centres by their very nature help combat loneliness by providing a space for people to meet and form meaningful connections through participation in community programs and projects, reducing social isolation. Bookings are essential due to limited numbers. #TheSolutionIsCommunity
04.01.2022 The COLD weather kept a lot of people indoors today. We had 7 children join in the fun @ DANC and the weather didnt stop us from having a dance party! The kids were introduced to badminton and the basics of pingpong. They took part in individual challenges to see who could bounce the ball on the paddle the longest. For arts & crafts, they designed their own boomerangs and created lanterns to hang up. They took part in Christmas Bingo and had a chance to win some prize...s too. We ended the day with a straw competition to see who could build the tallest structure using recycled materials and millions of straws.
