25.01.2022 The Annual General Meeting of the Dandenong and Districts Pool League will be held on Wednesday 9th December at 7.30 pm at a venue to be determined. With the current CoVID 19 restrictions it is impossible to name a venue at this stage. If the restrictions are eased we would like to hold an attendance AGM depending on venue openings and restriction guidelines. If this is not possible we will attempt to hold an online AGM.We will let you know as ASAP wich way it goes . But AGM will go ahead .

25.01.2022 To all members With the sudden and unexpected passing of Lea Shield the executive have appointed Sue Jensen as acting secretary of the DDPL. Lea was a big active part of the executive committee, a player and a friend to all that knew she will be sadly missed. The Executive committee had a meeting Tuesday night, as a result we have decided to cancel the 2020 winter season due to the covid 19 restrictions. Unfortunately due to the current state of affairs we do not believe that starting the season at this point is tenable.We would like to thank all members for there patience and understanding we hope you stay safe and see you next season .

24.01.2022 The DDPL is deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our secretary Leanne Shield we wish to extend our deepest sympathy to Rhys Quelch and her family our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time ....gone but not forgotten R.I.P. Leanne

23.01.2022 First night of prelims done winners and moving on to the Grand finals are. Div2 Springvale Rsl 19 Potters Sandown 14. Div3 Springvale Blue 13 Springvale RSL 8 and Div4 JD's 13 Fast Eddies Black 9. Tonight we have Prems Manhattan vs Sandown Potters and Fast Eddies vs Freccia Azzurra.

20.01.2022 DDPL Dear Members, We thank you for your patience while we have been discussing and reviewing information provided, by government and media surrounding the outbreak of COVID-19 in Australia. We have spent the last few days liaising with club presidents, each other to get an understanding on where each club sits, in relation to the winter 2020 season commencing on Monday 23rd March. ... We need to understand and respect that each person is going to have their own view on what should and shouldn’t happen. As an executive we have had to make a decision based on the wishes of our members and one that aligns with other social sporting organisation’s. That decision is to postpone the start of the 2020 Winter DDPL season. All scheduled games for this Monday March 23rd will not go ahead. We are aiming to re-commence on Monday 20 April. Providing the COVID-19 situation has settled we will play the remaining games. We understand this will create some inequalities in the fixture, but our plan is to get back to playing our beloved game as soon as possible. This has been a very hard decision to make and one we haven’t made lightly. Please note that this decision has been made with the very best of intentions, with the health and well being of our members and their families in mind. We want to do our part in helping to reduce the spread and impact of COVID-19. The demographic for our pool community is vast, we have male and female members ranging from 18 - 80+ years of age. Older members 60+ and those with existing health issues are our most vulnerable and we need to remember that. 8ball pool is our passion and our favourite pass-time, but health and survival trumps all. Lets do anything and everything in our power to ensure that we protect ourselves and others. For those people who intend to continue to play pool during this period socially (if venues remain open). Ensure you practice good hygiene. Wash your hands with warm water and soap, use hand sanitizer, clean the balls continually after each frame. Ditch the handshakes and kisses on the cheek for now, keep 1.5m away from all people. If you are showing symptoms of a cold or flu, be honest with yourself and stay home. We understand this is going to upset some people, but please understand it’s been decided as a proactive measure to protect all in DDPL and families .Also Wensday night meeting on the 18th March has been CANCELED until further notice. 19.01.2022 Presentation night has been run and done. A big thanks you to all who came and enjoyed themselves, those who took home Hampers and Umpire prizes. All had a good night, Good luck for next season and here are some pics and a small bit of video from the night. I will be back to update you on any news. If you wish to add photos from the night please do so or send and I will add.

18.01.2022 Morning all another week of finals done. Winners are Prems Greentables 19 Manhattan 17. Div 1 Potters Sandown 19 Fast Eddies 15. Next week 2nd Semis to see grand final spots filled.

16.01.2022 Well first night of Semis done Div2 Fast Eddies 19 Potters Sandown 14. Div3 Freccia Azzurra 13 Springvale Blue 11. Div 4 JD's Black 13 JD's 9. All went smoothly Now for tomorow Night Prems Manhattan Vs Greentables and Div1 Potters Sandown Vs Fast Eddies. Don't forget to come down and do some refereeing in Full uniform to make the night run smoothly.

15.01.2022 Hi everyone just like to say thank you to all our members for there understanding at this time we will be holding executive meeting soon to discuss the situation of our responsibilities as a league for the this season for safety and well-being of our members . In the meantime I would encourage all of u if possible to support your club as much as you can (venues) as we all know they are and will be doing it tough so if you can help them as much as possible. I know you all will do your best to support them .Making sure that you keep to guidelines that department of health set out . Be safe and be in touch soon . From all of us in the Committee.

09.01.2022 Hi All, As the restrictions have now eased we are happy to tell you that the DANDENONG & DISTRICT POOL LEAGUE AGM will be held at Freccia Azzura Club on 9th December at 7.30pm. Please ensure you arrive 15 mins early to register your details. All members must social distance (1.5m) from each other and please keep your masks on at all times. These are directions from the club which we are expected to follow. ... Please Enter via the main entrance (pokie room), also the pool tables will not be available to play on at this time! If you're unable to attend, please make sure you have at least one representative from your club to avoid a fine. If you are planning on having any extra members from your club attend you must let me(the secretary) know before the day so I can check numbers. Look forward to seeing you there .
