21.01.2022 Alumna Dr Kerry Chant PSM (Class of 1980) was yesterday named NSW Public Servant of the Year as part of the 2020 NSW Premier’s Awards. Our sincere congratulations to Dr Chant, whose dedication to serve her community under the extreme pressures brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, was on display in the media since February. As NSW Chief Health Officer, Dr Chant's almost daily TV appearances to report on the pandemic became a source of truth, and her knowledge and confidence in responding to questions built confidence in the community on how the state was handling the pandemic. Along with the rest of NSW, we thank Dr Chant for her dedication and congratulate her on this well-deserved acknowledgement. #danebankalumna #communityfocus #utprosim #danebankOGA #empoweredgirls #magnificentfutures

20.01.2022 Sweet treats, freshly baked goods, Lebanese pizzas and fancy ice creams were just some of the many foods available at stalls for the Year 9 Commerce small business day. Not only did they organised food stalls this year but also carnival games and crafts, hand-made by our Life Skills students. Senior students had a fun-and-food-filled day, and in the process the Year 9 class raised more than $2,500 for Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick and MAD for Homelessness. #commerce #smallbusinessday #fundraising #seniorschool #danebank #danebankgirls #danebankschool #empoweredgirls #magnificentfutures

19.01.2022 Cooking and baking for a special occasion can be a very memorable and enjoyable part of the lead up to a celebration. Year 9 Food Technology is currently learning about the importance of food for special celebrations such as Christmas. So, what better opportunity for making gingerbread houses! The finished products were creative, colourful and festive! #foodtech #seniorschool #celebrations #festivities #danebank #danebankschool #empoweredgirls #magnificentfutures

15.01.2022 Our Senior School Ut Prosim Leaders spent the day at Anglicare Sydney Toys and Tucker Warehouse packing well over 200 food and toy hampers. These will go to families in NSW who are struggling due to Bushfires, COVID and other life challenges. Helping make a real and practical difference for someone's Christmas is just one way our students live out the Danebank School motto Ut Prosim, that I may serve. #danebank #danebankschool #utprosim #makeadifference #empoweredgirls #magnificentfutures

13.01.2022 Wigs and wands and all things WILD! Junior School dressed up for Book Week today, filling the campus with characters very fitting to this years theme: 'Curious Creatures, Wild Minds'. It is wonderful to see our girls embracing their creative selves as they transformed into their favourite book characters. #bookweek #fortheloveofbooks #readingisfun #juniorschool #danebank #danebankgirls #empoweredgirls #magnificentfutures

10.01.2022 Balloons, decorations, dress ups and delicious food. These were just some of the fun things at the Year 12 Life Skills alphabet-themed farewell party. This theme meant everyone thought creatively and dressed as something starting with the first letter of their name. Our artistic teacher's aides spent their own time creating wonderful decorations for the party, while Year 11 Hospitality handled the catering. The younger Life Skills students gave speeches farewelling the Year 1...2 students, as well as Miss Romberg and our very special teacher's aide, Mrs Brown. Mrs Brown has been at Danebank for nearly 25 years and has worked tirelessly to help and support the girls in the Life Skills program during this time. It was a wonderful event to show thanks and say goodbye. #lifeskills #danebanklifeskills #farewellparty #danebank #danebankgirls #danebankschool #empoweredgirls #magnificentfutures See more

08.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. - Robert Laurence Binyon #rememberanceday2020 #lestweforget #wewillrememberthem

08.01.2022 What better way to end the school year than by dressing up? Year 4 did exactly that as they discovered what life was like during the early years of the British Colonisation of Australia. They visited The Rocks, explored sandstone alleyways and hidden corners, and dressed up as British convicts and settlers. They had a lovely time participating in this Ranger Jamie Tour. #therocks #britishcolonisation #rangerjamietour #danebank #danebankgirls #empoweredgirls #magnificentfutures

07.01.2022 It was starting to feel like Christmas today as our Year 9 students put our school motto, Ut Prosim - that I may serve, into practice. This year, in place of a Christmas Concert, Year 9 has packed delightful gift bags with chocolates, handmade cards and Christmas decorations, to help bring a special bit of Christmas joy to over 900 nursing home residents. #thegiftofgiving #wearethinkingofyou #danebank #danebankgirls #utprosim #thatimayserve #empoweredgirls #magnificentfutures

06.01.2022 The Year 10 Leadership training camp last week started off on the right foot with eager students and beautiful weather at The Tops Conference Centre. The camp is aimed at equipping students with skills as they prepare to take on leadership roles in Year 11, be that peer support, BOND, Ut Prosim, prefects or house leadership. The skills learnt will also be beneficial for each student as they become more independent in senior years and move on to life after Danebank. #leadershipcamp #skillsforleaders #skillsforlife #alwayslearning #danebank #danebankschool #empoweredgirls #magnicificentfutures

04.01.2022 Sara T (Year 11) recently represented Danebank in the Lions Youth of the Year Australia Competition held at Mortdale RSL. This competition, now in its 55th year, is a prestigious event for young people. It was designed to foster, encourage and develop leadership qualities of our youth, in conjunction with other citizenship qualities. After being interviewed by a panel of three judges, Sara and the other competitors had to deliver impromptu responses to two questions on current issues. Sara was named the overall winner and will progress on to the next level of competition. Well done, Sara! #lionsyouthoftheyearaward #citizenshipqualitiies #publicspeaking #impromtu #danebank #danebankgirls #empoweredgirls #magnificentfutures

03.01.2022 Our Junior School girls have been busy bees, lovingly packing shoe boxes with gifts to support Operation Christmas Child. These gift-filled shoe boxes are packed with something to wear, love and play with and they bring joy and hope to children in need around the world. We are thrilled to be able to send out over 250 boxes to demonstrate God’s love to children in need with the good news of Jesus Christ. #operationchristmaschild #childreninneed #giftofgiving #danebank #danebankschool #juniorschool #empoweredgirls #magnificientfutures

03.01.2022 Jamberoo is not only an exciting, fun-filled day out, but it is also a chance for Year 9 Commerce to learn more about their current topic, Running a Business. The girls learnt how Jamberoo operates as a business including finance, operations, marketing and human resources. It was also important that they test the activities in line with the business' objectives and enjoy the rides! #commerce #excursions #runningabusiness #jamberoo #funexcursions #danebank #danebankgirls #empoweredgirls #magnificientfutures
