23.01.2022 Not much creativity happening in the Dani Art studio but I’m hustling hard in The Whimsical Bead studio. Hopefully next month I’ll be releasing some new gems but for now it’s all about pivoting @thewhimsicalbead from a primarily face to face business to an online one. Off topic, my affirmation cards from @little.aggie arrived last week and I love them (may have bought a few extra sets as gifts!). Great service too! One thing I committed to do during this pandemic was to do m...y bit to try and support small business. Since March, I’ve been purchasing a few things each month from small businesses. It’s been great to be able to spread a bit of joy in the lives of friends and family and also purchase from people I may not have otherwise. I know firsthand that financially things aren’t great for a lot of people at the moment but if you can (or if you need to purchase a gift), why not look locally and shop small? 22.01.2022 I’ve not spent much time in my studio the last few months but I’m working overtime in The Whimsical Bead studio. Covid-19 combined with my own personal/ health issues has brought challenges that I didn’t anticipate I’d be dealing with in 2020. On the plus side, these things have forced me to reevaluate a lot both personally and business- wise. One thing I do know is that I’m so thankful for The Whimsical Bead. It has led me to many wonderful people and given me a purpose in life where I would likely not be able to work otherwise. For now, it needs my undivided attention but I’m hoping to be back in the creative studio in the not too distant future.

20.01.2022 Grotty studio clothes and hair up today (#safetyfirst....it’s been 8 months since my last hair cut and it’s a perfect length to get stuck in a dremel...no thanks!) I’ve been madly working on my new collection in between new and exciting things for @thewhimsicalbead , medical appointments and a few other secret squirrel things too. 20.01.2022 These beauties were destined for a local gallery but with covid restrictions upon us indefinitely I am going to list them online later this week. Our new tutorial boxes and online store has launched over at The Whimsical Bead so I’m now looking forward to having some more time to spend creating again. 19.01.2022 I made myself a make shift studio in The Whimsical Bead studio yesterday. It’s been around 6 or 8 months since I’ve had the polymer clay out to just create with no pressure. Whilst I only spent a few hours with it (as it was all my body could take), it was quite therapeutic and somewhat empowering. I haven’t actually made anything except veneers which will at some point be turned into jewellery components. Small steps right?!

17.01.2022 The new Christmas Collection additions will be listed online later today. I am happy with how they’ve turned out and I hope you love them as much as I do. There are limited pieces this year as I’ve been super busy with @thewhimsicalbead and haven’t been able to get in my studio as much as I’d like. 17.01.2022 Anyone else feeling a bit like Indi Mae at the moment?! I’m not quite sure where the week has gone! It’s been a daze of website and admin for The Whimsical Bead, aftermath from the storm/power outages and sorting out medical/health issues and appointments. I’m feeling like I want to get back into the creative studio and I’m starting to get my mojo back ever so slightly. I’m hoping the body will cooperate as I’m really wanting get back to the polymer clay later this week. I’...m also going to be looking at some new earring designs.....any suggestions?? 13.01.2022 I am all for days like today - R U OK day - as they raise awareness of important issues like mental illness however it seems pretty obvious that most people are not ok at all at the moment, especially here in Victoria. Remember, even if struggling with mental health issues is a new thing for you during covid times, that doesn’t make your feelings any less valid than someone who has been dealing with mental health issues for years - just different. And that’s ok. I am so ple...ased to see that this year on R U Ok day, the focus has been on what to say or do after you ask this question. Many people want to help, want to ask the question but lack the knowledge of how to do this. I’ve been on the receiving end of this and it can break you, especially after it’s taken months to mustering up the courage to reach out. I have struggled with mental illness since my teens in some way. I understand. It’s one of the main reasons I started creating. Art therapy is a wonderful thing. My inbox is always open. Reach out if you need to. Sometimes all we need is someone is listen....not just listen. To actually hear us. There’s also organisations that can help @beyondblue @ruokday @lifeline @headspace are just a few. Remember, it’s important to not just post about R U OK day, we need to action this too. And we need to start these conversations every day - not just on this day. Let’s start the conversation....and keep it going.

03.01.2022 What a week it’s been! Stage 4 restrictions here in Victoria are being rolled out and like every other Melbournian - especially those in business - I’m feeling all the feels. Juggling personal crisis, chronic illness and everyday life with what COVID has brought, isn’t easy but I am taking each day at a time and I’m for the people who have been checking in and sending messages of support. I really am so thankful. I haven’t been on socials as often as I’d like as I’ve been sup...er busy trying to digitalise The Whimsical Bead - getting stock online and trying to offer some kind of workshop experience for those at home. Crazy busy! Whilst I haven’t been creating much jewellery and artwork lately, I’ve had a super productive last few months and so the website is stocked with lots of beautiful pieces ready to be shipped. 02.01.2022 Working in The Whimsical Bead studio today and reminiscing about the days where I used to spend hours upon hours in my creative studio with my polymer clay. It’s been a long time between sessions and I miss it. I can’t clay as much as I used to because of my health issues but at the moment it’s also due to time.
