25.01.2022 #peace #beauty #sunshine #recharge. Could be anywhere. We don’t need to leave Adelaide to find great beaches and take great holidays. It can all happen here. #lovewhereyoulive #findthebeauty
24.01.2022 Me: Lali, let’s get out of the house and go hang out! Lali: No! Me; Lali, let’s go get your favorite mint ice cream! Lali: ok! ... incentives are a great way to move people. Not sure it would’ve worked if I said ‘Lali let’s go get some carrot sticks’, We all respond differently to incentives and have our own unique choices. Part of working with people is finding out what moves them and what motivates them individually and then accommodating that. One person’s cheese is another person’s ice cream or chocolate. Warning: don’t try this at home without a balanced diet #Incentive #Choice #Unique #People #Teamwork #Individuality #Motivation #Chocolate #Icecream #Cheese #Coachinglife #Danglethecarrot #vegandarkchocolateicecreamisthebomb

19.01.2022 The directors might cringe at the thought of me drawing all over their meticulously clean office windows, but white board marker does come off. The impact of coaching can be a lot more permanent. What talents and skills do you have that you can use to help teach your team or client more effectively? #Adaptability #Ideation (creativity) #individualization are 3 #CliftonStrengths talents that I use to serve my clients. What #talents can you use?... We learn through visual, audible and kinesthetic (VAK) activities. Some of us have a definite preference to one of these three. You can’t expect all people to sit in front of you and just listen to you talk and learn at a 100% absorption rate. Be creative in how you learn and deliver. Find out how your team responds best to learning. Think about how you best respond in a learning environment. A great coach will always ensure that his or her team and client are engaged, always checking in and adjusting accordingly. #business #businesscoach #realestatecoaching #accountabilitycoaching #realestatesuccess #businessaccountability #superpowersforsuccess #education #teachersareleaders
18.01.2022 Feeling grateful to be able to deliver our strengths-based deep dive workshop for teams with Care & Share at Trinity last week. Here’s what some of our participants had to say: [this training will] help the development of staff and how the board can support staff... Presenters understood the team, engaging everyone [the aspect of the session that I found most useful] was owning my strengths and how our team’s strengths interplay. When a team of unique and talented contributors are valued for their strengths, and recognise that they need one another to create individual and team excellence, the outcomes are extraordinary: - People look forward to going to work. - They have more positive than negative interactions with co-workers - Relationships with customers are better - They achieve more on a daily basis - They have more positive and innovative moments Teamwork makes the dream work! #strengths #teamwork #goals #professionaldevelopment #workshop

16.01.2022 Sitting in the big man’s chair in Phoenix in Arizona a few years ago reminded me that we can gamify just about anything. Making things fun and make them easier to learn. We do it with kids all the time. Sometimes we forget to do it with ourselves. Making exercise fun, making learning fun, making cooking fun, making cleaning fun, making proofreading your own posts fun,, making relationships fun, making business fun, making sales fun, fill in the blank. Perhaps you don’t want to learn about escaping the rat race, but what do you want to learn? What do you struggle to learn that you know will help you? How can you gamify it? #cashflow101 #cashflowgame #robertkyosaki #richdadpoordad #learning #mindsetiseverything #gamify

15.01.2022 My #positivity talent means that I’m pretty good at making people laugh and what’s more, I don’t mind being the butt of the jokes. Find a reason to laugh today and then share the love. It might just save someone’s life.

The trick is to take that talent and turn it into a #Strength. ... There are lots of ways that you can build a career and be more successful using the talents that you already have. 11.01.2022 Great, simple advice from someone who seems to have their head screwed on quite well, by all accounts. Sometimes we over complicate things and it can be a form of procrastination or wanting to layer our story so thick that we then can stand alongside of it and claim defeat because of its overwhelming size. Try this: Read one page per day. Go for a run for one minute per day. Watch what happens!... You’ll read the second page and then the third and probably the fourth and fifth. You’ll run for one minute and then run for two and probably three. But set your goal at just one. Version one is better than version none. Start there if you need to. See more

10.01.2022 Came across this while listening to Eckhart Tolle talk about presence and happiness and ego and expectations and I’ll be happy when The past is already gone and the future isn’t here yet. So many of us hang onto the past and wish things could be better, and then look to the future with hope. But we only have control over the present moment, over right now. And we don’t even have control over it. When we try to control it with cravings or aversion (expectations of what we w...ant and what we don’t want), we set ourselves up for disappointment. It’s taken me years of reflection and re-listening to books like The Power of Now and A New Earth to get my head around the idea that happiness doesn’t come from expecting more and getting more or avoiding what we don’t want but from just allowing ourselves to be OK with what’s happening right now. For a futuristic maximizing activator like me, being in the present moment is extremely difficult. Always thinking about the next thing on the list. Always trying to get the ducks in a row and control the environment to move closer to the next thing. But it’s hopeless. It causes so much anxiety. Causes frustration and resentment. And the people around us notice it. 2021 is going to be all about having goals and dreams and ideas for improvement, but no expectation around the outcome. #mindsetiseverything #awesome #presence #hope #anxiety #craving #aversion
10.01.2022 Today, at 12:30 PM, during my lunch break, I will sit down and do (that specific thing I’ve been avoiding). A great way to avoid doing something that we know will give us a benefit is to put it off until tomorrow and then procrastinate and find other things to do. Often they are less meaningful and less beneficial tasks. Checking email, writing email, sorting out Downloads folder, dusting the desk, putting on a load of washing, going for a walk, fill in the blank. Then we tel...l ourselves that we are hopeless and just can’t get ahead and may as well give up. That is the mark of a fixed mindset. With a growth mindset, we can tell ourselves that we will get there and we just need to try. A great way to move forward is to have a concrete plan. Set a specific time and create an environment to do that thing. Then just do it. We experienced this on Monday night with our team. We created an environment, set some goals and took action. So, what are you gonna get done today that’s been conveniently ‘dropping’ off your list? #action #mindset #procrastination #mindsetiseverything #fixedmindset #growthmindset
09.01.2022 2016. Grand Canyon. Thinking about a mountain lesson from visiting the Grand Canyon, if you know the statistics about how you can fit the world’s mountain ranges into the Grand Canyon then you would know that the Grand Canyon is one monster of a river magnificence. The deepest parts of the grand Canyon are around 2 billion years old and were formed by the erosion from the Colorado river over millions of years, if I remember correctly. The point is that it took a long long lo...ng long long time to erode the path and create the canyon and so the lesson for me was to be more patient, more persistent and keep showing up every day. The reason why rivers meander is because they take the path of least resistance. They don’t stop and crack the shits and try and push through the hardest rock, they just gently and slowly go around it overtime. So when you come up against obstacles, find a way around them. Just don’t give up. Sounds like a good mantra for 2021
08.01.2022 Don’t be so serious! The best way to engage people when you are storytelling and teaching and sharing yes we joy and energy and fun and activities. It’s not just with kids that we need a dance Round in front of and use bright shiny objects to engage, this also works with our friends and teams and clients.... I remember doing this workshop at the Hilton about Strengths and how they are our superpowers for success. These green glasses are what I like to call my ‘awesome’ glasses . I have two purposes: The first purpose is that when I put them on, everything all of a sudden looks awesome. Yes, clearly it’s a state of mind and they are just a trigger, however it works. A little bit like asking someone to change their attitude, we can use props as a trigger to change your attitude. The second purpose they have is to demonstrate that we all see the world through our own filters, a bit like the old saying about rose-colored glasses. How I see the world is different to how you see the world. And we see the world through our beliefs and experiences and our biases. We also see the world through our talents. How many times have you thought to yourself gee, why doesn’t everyone just do things the way I expect them to or behave the way I behave? Wouldn’t life be easier? Bupbow! If everyone was as highly #activator as me, we would have a lot of unfinished projects around the worldeven a couple of roads that go to nowhere maybe. So, as we move into Friday, I challenge you to put on your AWESOME glasses and see everything is awesome and amazing and see people as amazing and celebrate their differences and focus on what they do well. Happy Friday! #talents #strengths #teams #biases #celebratedifferences #everythingisawesome #teamwork @hiltonadelaide #robbieschopshop @tic_southaustralia
