23.01.2022 A beautiful morning spent on the water and managed to avoid the rain, we did lose a paddle at one stage but fortunately our Awesome sweep was quick to rescue it. Practised some drills and paddling terms and even tried to race some of the boats.

23.01.2022 Happy Hour for the Pink Lotus crew, wine and giggles... just what the premier ordered Happy Hump day to all our supporters and followers

21.01.2022 The gang paddling in the tens boat for our last paddle of the year, then a chat down at Patterson River, Pink Lotus wish everyone a happy Christmas and safe New Year, and will see you in 2021.

20.01.2022 Was a bumpy first paddling session back with a dodgy tyre but luckily our crew member Colin was on hand to save the day. While adhering to Covid safety procedures, we were able to spend some much needed time together out on the water .

16.01.2022 Some of the gang having a lovely walk to the beach Sunday

15.01.2022 A few of our members caught up today for a quick walk along the river in between the rain showers then got together for morning tea.

14.01.2022 COACH’S CORNER: ... Just as we all got excited about heading back into the water again... Victoria is back into stage 3 lockdown again which means no dragon boating for now Though we can’t be together now at our clubs, it’s important to remember to still be there for each other whether it’s face time... writing a letter (at least it will kill sometime ) or even a simple phone call.. ... One thing that the Pink Lotus club did last time was to have weekly face time sessions which was lovely and a good way to stay in touch. While we’re stuck in our home for the foreseeable future, a good way to maintain our fitness is circuit training. Circuit training can be good for the body because it works in various areas plus limits the boredom factor when you’re changing exercises. A good app that I’ve been using is SIT which is free and can help you to keep time of the exercises and the tests in between. I’ve included a circuit session that I made for myself taking into account my limitations and abilities. Feel free to share a circuit session that you create for yourself abd as always, stay safe and love and best wishes to you

14.01.2022 Great way to practise team

13.01.2022 A very big happy 3rd birthday to our amazing club: The Pink Lotus crew. Though we can’t be together on the water today, we’re still all there for each other and sending love to all.

13.01.2022 I did a podcast interview last week for a podcast show that wanted to find out about Dragon Abreast and breast cancer survivors. My segment is 17.10 minutes on and I talked about the joy dragon boating brings all its members and the benefits to our mental and physical health. https://www.mojonews.com.au//gays-and-gals-why-adele-made-

12.01.2022 Coach’s Corner... Let’s face it, it’s been a loooooong crazy start to the year and the absence of dragon boating and weekly catch up’s has left a bit of a hole in our lives... Hopefully all who are reading this have managed to hold onto their marbles (I think I’ve lost a few along the way thanks to teenagers at home ) during this time and have managed to stay active and temporarily replace dragon boating with a different hobby.... My go-to activities have been my home gym equipment and jigsaw puzzles... In the comments, please feel free to share yours and if comfortable share a photo. ‘Friends are connected Heart to heart Distance and time Can’t break them apart’

02.01.2022 To all our members and followers, love and support to you all during this turbulent time. Hope you’re all keeping safe and we all get to be back on the water soon

01.01.2022 With isolation easing, hopefully soon our Pink Lotus crew will be back where we belong on the water For the past few weeks, we’ve been catching up at our home base (PATTERSON LAKES CANOE CLUB in Carrum) and getting some exercise by walking along the river and spending time catching up again. Anyone interested in seeing what our club is about or finding out more about dragon boating is welcome to come down on any Sunday (weather permitting) at 9:45 and join us. ... Until we are able to get back on the boats, if you have a spare few minutes grab yourself a chair and practise the paddling technique at home. I’ve included a helpful video I found on YouTube to assist you and again for any interested newbies, give it a try. https://youtu.be/Wv_4PDz_KWM
