23.01.2022 Opening Wednesday 4/03/20 is the exhibition 'Werden' in Banksia Gallery. Werden is an exhibition of works by artists promoting social change through themes such as sustainability, community building and equal rights. Werden is the German word for ‘to become’, meaning to come, change or grow to be. ... In a world that is desperately seeking change, works such as these will help us grow stronger as communities and create systematic change for a more sustainable and inclusive world. Opening night: Wednesday,4/03/20, 6:00pm - 8:00pm, Banksia Gallery, Darebin Arts Centre. Cost: Free Access: The gallery space and all events associated with this exhibition are wheelchair accessible. There is disabled parking at the front of the venue. Darebin Arts Centre has a wheelchair accessible toilet and the option of all gendered toilets. Address: Corner of Bell Street and Saint Georges Road, Preston VIC 3072. Public transport: Darebin Arts Centre is a 5 minute walk from Bell Train Station, Preston. ----------------------- We acknowledge that the land on which our gallery sits is the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, whose sovereignty was never ceded. 18.01.2022 Summer is here and we will be taking a short break to refresh and renovate. The Darebin Arts Centre will be closed to the public from Saturday 21st December to mid-February 2020 while we complete some upgrades to enhance our facilities. We would like to thank the presenters, audience members, exhibitors and everyone else who have been a part of 2019 with the Darebin Arts Centre, and wish you all a safe and happy holiday season. We'll see you all back in the new year.

17.01.2022 Join us tonight at 6pm - 8pm for the opening of ‘Rejoice’, an iconography exhibition organised by Uriel's Workshop. The exhibition will be showing at the Darebin Arts Centre from December 3rd -19th 2019. On display will be egg tempera works by some of the best master iconographers Melbourne has to offer, alongside master water gilders, wood carvers and jewellers.... Traditional icons will be on show, alongside byzantine inspired artworks, matted prints and limited edition prints. Access: The gallery space and all events associated with this exhibition are wheelchair accessible. Darebin Arts Centre has wheelchair accessible toilets on premise as well as all gendered bathrooms. Cost: Free and open to the public Getting there/transport: Darebin Arts Centre is 5 minutes away from Bell Train Station. There are multiple parking spaces available at the venue. Space is available for taxi’s and cars to drop off visitors at the entrance of the building.

Dance & Roll is a non-profit Club that encourages people with physical disabilities to keep active and healthy with the enjoyment of dancing. ... Dancing is a great alternative to maintain mental and physical well being. Science confirms that dancing makes you happier because it is a way to communicate and express our emotions through the movement of the body. The physical benefits of wheelchair dancing include the maintenance of physical balance, flexibility, range of motion, coordination and improved respiratory control while the psychological effects of dancing are social interaction and the development of relationships. DANCE & ROLL provides a friendly and accessible environment. Darebin Art Centre has disabled toilets and car park. You can join us no matter your age, gender or your dance experience. Sessions are on Thursdays at 6:00pm.
