25.01.2022 Now that the Mars2020 mission with the Perseverence rover is underway, I'd like to recognise and congratulate the NASA engineers and mission specialists who made it possible. Last August I was fortunate to be invited by UNSW Astrobiology to venture to the Pilbara to meet both the NASA and ESA Mars mission teams whilst they were exploring fossil evidence of the earliest life on Earth, in order for them to understand the geology of what may confront them on Mars. Here are a few photos of that trip....

13.01.2022 Hi Guys. As you are aware, I've been a bit quiet on here of late. Both the bushfires and dust storms these last 3 months or so means I haven't bothered to get the telescope out of the shed. I have also been busy preparing for the upcoming cultural astronomy conference in Argentina in April, where I will be presenting a talk on some of my/our research. I also have some events coming up in 2020, but more info on these later.

What is not immediately apparent is that we are loosing our Indigenous and ancestral sky stories along with it. I invite you to read & ponder this new paper just accepted for publication "Whitening the Sky: Light pollution as a form of cultural genocide"
