25.01.2022 This coming Tuesday evening we are holding something different - a Trivia & Joke Night! Interested in coming along? Simply get in touch to RSVP and we can provide you with further information.
22.01.2022 We enjoyed our first meeting of the year in our new venue, Club Toowoomba on Hume St! We realised that our public speaking skills have become a little rusty over the break, with several members trying to outdo each other in the 'ums and ahs' department! Big thank you to Toastmaster Bronwyn for running an informative and enjoyable education session on impromptu speeches.... Want to be a guest at our next meeting? Get in touch and we'll make it happen!
21.01.2022 Our thoughts are with Warren’s family at this difficult time.
21.01.2022 Congratulations to Toastmaster Bronwyn for completing Level 2 of her path 'Team Collaboration'!
20.01.2022 Our next meeting is going to be a little different - we’re having a social event at Club Toowoomba! Members, past members and guests are welcome.
19.01.2022 ***Please note earlier start time for this week's meeting - our International & Evaluation Contests! The meeting will commence at 6.15pm with briefings for all involved. If a contestant misses a briefing they still compete - they just go last in the speaking order. Thanks so much everyone, every club member attending either has a role or is a contestant.
18.01.2022 Good luck to our competitors in today’s Area 1 Contests! Bronwyn (International) & Caleb (Humorous). Julianne is also attending in support role.Good luck to our competitors in today’s Area 1 Contests! Bronwyn (International) & Caleb (Humorous). Julianne is also attending in support role.
18.01.2022 Our meeting this coming Tuesday 29th September will be held online, via Zoom, starting at 6:30pm sharp. If you’d like to join us as a guest to get a feel for what goes on during a meeting, this is a great chance to attend without leaving home! Please get in touch to organise your attendance and we can send you the meeting link.
18.01.2022 Yeah...let's change that! It's far easier than you think to gain self-confidence and new skills, all in a supportive environment. Toastmasters provides this for you so that you can present for work/social settings/a special event with self-assurance and ease. Get in touch to organise to attend a meeting as a guest.
18.01.2022 We've been getting pretty good at this online meeting bizzo! Last night we held our official changeover, where we thanked our hardworking executive from 2019/20 and welcomed our incoming executive for 2020/21. Our 19/20 executive had certainly earned their stripes, after having to co-ordinate the change to online meetings, and keeping the club running during COVID19. We thank everyone for their efforts and wish the incoming executive all the best for the coming year. We wer...e honoured to be joined by two esteemed guests last night - Kevin Sherry (new Western Division director) and Margaret Marshall (new Area 1 director). It's always a pleasure to have these two experienced Toastmasters join our meetings. We also named the winners of our inaugural Toastmaster of the Year award, and the Paul Lindemann Trophy. Drum roll please.... John Bushell (2019/20 VPE) received the Paul Lindemann award. David Sullivan was the winner of the Toastmaster of the Year award. We will be presenting the 'real' trophies when we get back to in-person meetings (which shouldn't be far away)!

10.01.2022 The first of our yearly speech contests is being held tomorrow night! We look forward to hearing some great speeches from our members - and a dose of healthy competition! Please remember that all meetings are now held at the Toowoomba City Library until further notice, and RSVP is essential.
10.01.2022 Drum roll please...we have great news: Our next meeting will be IN-PERSON! Hooray! Whilst we have been enjoying our Zoom meetings (and learning a lot about how to use the platform) we have certainly been missing getting together and actually standing up to speak. Thankfully, our new president David has been hard at work looking into venues - we will be holding our next meeting on 4th of August at the Toowoomba City Library (temporary venue). We are hoping to get back to ou...r usual venue of St Stephen's in the near future. Due to room limits, RSVP is essential so please make sure you mark your attendance on Easy-Speak as soon as possible.
08.01.2022 I think we all have a bit of this at the moment...
07.01.2022 ...and this is why, at Toastmasters, we aim to improve our vocabulary and communication skills. I’m not sure how often this gem will drop into normal conversation though! Our regular meetings are starting up again from this coming Tuesday, and we are looking forward to seeing our members again. Going forward, we are holding our meetings at Club Toowoomba on Hume St. Want to be a guest at a meeting? You are more than welcome to attend - and no, you won’t be required to speak (unless you want to). Simply get in touch and we’ll be happy to provide you with further details.
05.01.2022 Well done to our participants in last night's Evaluation contest! Bronwyn was awarded first place, with Julianne second and John third. Thank you to our judges and of course our test speaker Russell from Highfields who presented an amazingly informative session about bee-keeping!
03.01.2022 A hearty congratulations to our winners and participants in Tuesday night’s Humorous and Table Topics (impromptu) speech contests! Thank you also to our helpers and judges - we appreciate your efforts.
02.01.2022 Our first in-person meeting since lockdown has been great fun - even if we've had to remember how to clap (blame it on too many Zoom sessions!) Our recipients of club awards were able to finally receive their trophies! John Bushell was awarded the Paul Lindemann Outstanding Member Memorial Trophy For Dedication & Service.... David Sullivan was awarded Toastmaster of the Year. Well done and our heartiest congratulations to you both! *** We are hoping face-to-face meetings are returning permanently soon. We will keep you posted!
02.01.2022 Congratulations to our place-getters in last night's International Contest! Caleb in 3rd place Mariko in 2nd place Bronwyn in 1st place ... Special mention to Bronwyn who also took out the Evaluation Contest (see previous post) and Caleb who entered all four contests over the two-week period! Well done everyone!
