Weve been talking with Racing Queensland over the last few months about the possible return to regular racing at one of two sites in Toowoomba, highlighting the timeframe and cost as two MASSIVE positives about our locations. At this stage all talks have been very positive and progressing forward. We need your support as an industry to take this project forward. 16.01.2022 Tonights final- The Iron Jack Glenvale Cup was taken out by Condafew for Stacey & Lola Weidemann making it a clean sweep of heats and finals for the combination thus far! Runner up was Oozinville for Ricky Gordon & third went to Christian Torado for Dale Chalk. The big final of the 2019 Toowoomba Royal Show is tomorrow night- the time honoured Darling Downs Cup, timed to go off just after 7pm.

12.01.2022 DDHRC AGM & RACE MEETING CHAIRMAN'S UPDATE G'day All, Happy to report on a few items from last night's AGM.... We welcome new committeeman Pat Kynoch to the board, Pat has been a great supporter of Harness Racing on the Darling Downs for many years and it's great to have him involved. I'd like to thank our previous board members (those re-elected and those not) for their support and service in the past and I welcome Rex Williams, Peter Bell and Michael Reichstein & Stacey Weidemann back on the committee. Thanks to Ben Hall who has once again taken the reins as my Vice-Chairman and also to Andrew Millard who has stayed on as Secretary/Treasurer, both have done a terrific job in the past. I welcomed the nomination for Chairman once again and thank everyone for their support into my seventh term. I look forward to leading the DDHRC forward in its efforts to secure regular Harness Racing meetings on the Darling Downs. I am pleased to advise that Racing Queensland has given us the following days at two shows and one race meeting:- Warwick Show Friday 22nd March 2019 This event heralds the return of Show trotting to Warwick after 17 years. Toowoomba Show 28th, 29th & 30th March 2019 Racing three nights this year, increased from two. Warwick TAB & SKY covered meeting 8th December 2019 Featuring the Warwick Pacing Cup. 08.01.2022 RAY BUNCH MACHINERY SPONSORS TROTTING RETURN We are over the moon to announce that long time supporter of Harness Racing & the DDHRC, Ray Bunch Machinery, has pledged their sponsorship to the return of trotting to the Warwick Show next month! Ray has been a magnificent supporter and sponsor over many years to our club and we are wrapped he is on board once again with us. The races will be known as the Ray Bunch Machinery Cantor Cup. ... The Joe Cantor Cup was the feature race for many years around the 1940s for the Warwick Trotting Club. The club was formed in 1915 and staged yearly meetings at the show. Trotting in Warwick was also staged at Allman Park Racecourse during this period before 1956 when regular Saturday meetings at the Showgrounds were conducted until 1967. Show racing continued after regular racing ceased. The show trots were always a popular attraction for the public and were last seen on the Friday night entertainment program until insurance issues caused them to cease in 2002. There will be three heats of the Ray Bunch Machinery Cantor Cup culminating with the final to be battled out under lights on the Friday night at approximately 7:20.
