16.01.2022 New in this week: Custard apples: This delicious fruit is lovely on its own but also became very popular in milkshakes! Recipe tip:... http://www.mareenasrecipecollections.com/custard-apple-mil/ Jackfruit An amazing exotic fruit! In its early stages of ripening it is used in the vegan cuisine as a meat substitute. When fully ripened Jackfruit is getting a sweet taste of various fruits and is also described as natures natural fruit salad! We love the taste, shape. & sizes - very impressive! 14.01.2022 Celeriac The little powerhouse no-one knows about! It would be too much to say, that the celeriac bulbs are a hit in our shop. They are not. On my search to find a recipe that makes this fiber and vitamin packed vegetable more interesting I came across a recipe from the bbc. Being used to the more traditional way of cooking celeriac, I loved how tasty and exciting, yet simple and easy this dish was to make. The flavour of celeriac is distinctively different to other root vege...tables. Taste Tip: Good, rich butter and fresh thyme will lift the flavours in this dish. Recipe: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com//celeriac-ribbon-pasta-tossed- In case you want to try: Enjoy!

05.01.2022 Stay clean and healthy with these 10 hacks!

04.01.2022 News from the market The effects of drought & fires reached the Brisbane markets this week. Some lines are not available or hard to get and we see prices are jumping up for some items (broccoli, cauliflower, lettuces and cucumbers) with many of these produce coming from Victoria at this time of the year. ... However: not as bad as last January when one cauliflower reached a record price of 10,90! We stick with Australian lemons and limes this week, which do look a bit rougher than their American counterparts recently, but we are not judging our fruit by its cover! They are cheaper, not gassed on their way in (which apparently happens to all import fruit) and they are just as juicy! This weeks discoveries & recommendations: Pink ladys, unwaxed @ 5,90/kg Flat peaches, novelty @ 9,90/kg Lemons, Aussie originals: 7,90/kg Limes, Aussie originals: 6,90/kg Blueberries, victorian, buy for flavour: 5,90/pun Book in store: The produce companion From balconies to bacckyards. The complete guide to growing. $24 Enjoy and I hope everyone had a good weekend! Christina
