21.01.2022 Please be advised of pending works within Yengarie Community Hall grounds. These works will provide new play equipment, softfall and rubber edging at the park as the existing equipment is due for replacement. These works are planned to commence December 1 (weather permitting) and are expected to take two weeks to complete.

21.01.2022 Dropped in to Active Industries to learn about their ongoing export sales of bandsaws in to New Zealand. The Active Industries bandsaw is a great bit of equipment. I was the proud owner of one of these saws back in the early days of Kawaungan Quality Meats, the saw was a very reliable and vital tool in the business. Not sure it was designed to handle the volume that we used to put through the saw! I am planning to drop in and do a little story with the guys and share their go...od news story! #forwardfrasercoast

18.01.2022 I really need to pay attention to what day it is! We have so many days for causes these days and I missed this one! National Buy Aussie Day is a call-to-arms for all Australian to support the 2.2 million Aussie small businesses who are the base of our room of our economy. ... Nationally small businesses have recently been struggling with a number of challenges in 2020 following droughts, bushfires, floods and to top it off COVID-19 We are all aware Australia officially went into recession for the first time in thirty years and retail turnover growth is expected to fall -1.4% in 2020 which will be the worst year on record in Australia. Most of us Australians prefer to buy Australian and for too long we have been relying on imported products. Please make sure you save the date of this day for next year so we can all support it!

15.01.2022 Really worth investing a little time to visiting the history of the Fraser Coast. Must say it was interesting to see the planning that went into Roy Rufus Reef. I will leave it to you to think about the present day environmental laws. Sadly there is no sound so you cannot hear the commentary of the day.... https://www.youtube.com/watch

05.01.2022 Fraser Coast Regional Council has released the Hervey Bay Aquatic Centre draft Masterplan and we want your feedback on the facility and what you think needs to be included within the site in the future. The Masterplan has been prepared to identify how Council can improve the facilities at the centre to meet community needs and aspirations over the next 40 to 50 years. A dedicated project page with an animated video and site plan is now live on Council’s Engagement Hub website... https://frasercoast.engagementhub.com.au/ When you are thinking about this facility I would encourage you to think of the facility more than just a swimming pool! Thank you in advance for taking the time to have your say!

04.01.2022 This program made a significant difference to the way I think! If you do not stand for something you will fall for everything it is a very simple philosophy. #forwardfrasercoast... #LeadershipRRRAUS #ARLFalumni See more

04.01.2022 Have your say on recycled water use on the Fraser Coast yet? Fraser Coast residents are being encouraged to have their say on the use of recycled water. The Fraser Coast Regional Council was updating its Recycled Water Strategy and wanted to know what was important to the community on the issue.... Our recycled water scheme, which has been in place for more than 25 years, routinely uses 90 to 100 per cent of the Fraser Coast’s treated wastewater for uses such as irrigation for sugar cane crops, golf courses, turf farms and sporting fields, to name a few. The Fraser Coast’s population is expected to grow significantly over the next 20 to 30 years and volumes of effluent will increase which can be recycled and managed in different ways. Over the next few months, Council will be putting together a position paper to inform the development of a Fraser Coast Recycled Water Strategy and we want to know the community’s values, how they would like to see the water used and where there is demand. We have established a dedicated project page on our Engagement Hub website - https://frasercoast.engagementhub.com.au/recycled-water-str - which includes a survey and the opportunity to make a submission. We encourage everyone to take the opportunity to have their say with the survey open until Sunday 11 October 2020.

03.01.2022 A very late post on last weeks visit to Fraser Island for a number of site inspections and a gathering with the Happy Valley Community Association Inc. It was great to visit the Orchid Beach Trading Post and Driftwood Bar and meet Nikki and the team. These guys are doing a cracking job, these guys make the best coffee on the North of the Island and have some amazing plans in the pipeline! We are looking forward to the construction of the new public toilet in the Orchid Beach ...township that assist with continued growth in visitor number to the northern event of the Island. I will offer a thank you for the welcome by Happy Valley Community Association Inc for there welcome for council officers and myself. It was a great day for the Happy Valley Rural Fire Brigade to officially commission the new water tanks facility supported by the Fraser Coast Regional Council, I was able turn on the hydrant to fill the Happy Valley Fire Appliance 1. The Rural Fire Service also officially handed over the new Appliance to the Happy Valley Rural Fire Brigade and QPWS handed over a Slip on Unit to assist the Brigade in the future. The Royal Flying Doctor Service was on also there to will hand over their RFDS Medical Chest to the Community which will be an asset to the QAS on the Island. We were also able to visit the Happy Valley Ambulance Station and inspect the helipad and learn of the plans for the construction of the new helipad. Really looking forward to working with the Happy Valley Community Association into the future.
