It was done with our old D7F on a little property a kms up Oaky Flat road. Morayfield . I always enjoyed driving this old D7F .

21.01.2022 The old Mack has a 12 speed overdrive mack gear box. I have a jacob brake switch set at the top half inch of the clutch peddle so as i am taking off i am not sitting my foot on the clutch peddle . I just hold off the engine break switch so it stays off while changing up gears. Its handy having a switch on the clutch and on the dash.

21.01.2022 Getting down a big widow maker on a farm at Glasshouse. This is why I like having a good strong canopy for my machine in bush work,,

18.01.2022 Selective Clearing of regrowth Wattle on a cattle Property

17.01.2022 Making a new Leveled site for a Nursery from fill and shaping the back of a Dam wall to make the batter much better to mow with a slasher.

14.01.2022 Clearing regrowth and pushing stock piles of excavated fill to level then cutter bar and rake the paddock to remove all stumps and roots.

13.01.2022 Clearing trees off an old dam wall. This is one thing many people let go because they think trees are good for holding a dam wall together. Trees put big roots through a wall and in many cases can start a good dam leaking over time. When trees die the roots become a place for water to seep through. This dam has a few leaks that have developed and as I cleared the back of the wall I noticed a wet spot behind the middle of the wall ..... Something for people to consider.. See more

09.01.2022 Level a shed pad in a difficult spot.

08.01.2022 Back in 1990 I had this little dam to build on a diary farm at Curramore west of Maleny. Not many pictures those days but I have these few. I had a Komatsu D65E -8 back then and there was not a lot of excavators around those days and we just did the best we could with the dozer and it sometimes took a bit of thought to put the material in the right places so you could use it when you needed to. With water in this gully I had to core out the wall as I went building a bridge of... clay as I crossed from one side to the other. Once I had a core of clay tied to the base I made this one from the center out keeping a clay core in the center . I only had material on one side of the ridge and I had to side cut my way down to get enough material to get the wall up. you get one chance to get your quantities right or its harder to start cutting from the top down once you have taken the first bite out of the hill side. with a good spring it was a good drinking hole for the cattle. Its still there after 30 years. I was talking to the farmer I did this job for all those years ago only today and we were reminiscing about the old days and the time I was up there working on the farm. See more

07.01.2022 Ripping cultivation to break up the hard bottom to help young nut trees get growing . The paddock will be hilled later.

07.01.2022 Extending a dam to increase capacity . It was a dry time and water was low and I was asked to help build this with other contractors and we all done our bit as a team to get it done before the rain.

02.01.2022 The second part of the Mango farm Clearing job. Burning and cutter baring of the cultivation ground to return the ground to usable farm ground.

02.01.2022 Cutting in a drain on a small cattle property. An open spoon drain is much better for open access between paddocks than a sharp cut drain with steep sides such as is in this paddock at the start of the job.

02.01.2022 A trip back in time to the first Old Float truck we had at the start. It was a second hand Inter R 195. It was only about 180hp with a 5 speed by 2 speed joey box behind it . The drive was a 34 thousand pound that did around 70 mile an hour if you wound her up. The first old drop deck side loader float was the gear of the day in the 60's then came along the tandem drake.... How times have changed over the years but these memories are the best you could have . We started with what was affordable at the time and treated them with care and they served us well. See more
