24.01.2022 As part of our Dardherri program, staff and clients participated in a Healing Camp at Blackdown Tablelands on the 8th, 9th & 10th July. Ghungalu Elder, Uncle Des Hamilton conducted a healing & smoking ceremony and spoke of what young Indigenous men did on Ghungalu country. He shared stories of his life experiences and spoke of the importance of culture. The staff & clients visited Sacred Sites, swam in rock pools such as Rainbow Falls, sighted traditional stencil art & much more. Both the clients & staff were in awe of the beauty of the Blackdown Tablelands. #dcysi #darumbalcommunityyouth #darumbalcommunityyouthservice #walkingtogether #lettheirvoicesbeheard https://www.instagram.com/tv/CEqY-hvB3hm/

22.01.2022 New Year & a new look for DCYSI staff! DCYSI would like to give a special thanks to Senior Support Worker and artist James Waterton for his incredible artwork for our new uniform design. The artwork tells the story of organisational growth, spiritual guidance, and how working with families and the broader community is key to overcoming the battles faced in the lives of the young people we work with.... We would also like to acknowledge and give thanks to the work of Jesse at Yilay for the shirt designs. We think they look pretty deadly and are very excited to start the new year with a fresh new style! DCYSI staff hopes that everyone in our community has had a safe and joyful festive break. This month, DCYSI staff are very busy with the Banana School Holiday Camp commencing next Monday 11th to Friday 15th 2021; as well as supporting families, children and young people to get ready for the school year ahead; and, don’t forget about our annual Warba Wangarunya Rugby League Carnival on the 23rd 24th of January 2021, DCYSI staff are working tirelessly in preparing for this great event.
